I’m not Making Enough Money on Medium Anymore

I’ve been writing on Medium for a while now, and at one point, I was earning at least $1500 a month from the Partner Program, these days, I’m lucky to hit the $300 mark no matter how much I effort I put in therefore, I’m turning my efforts to focusing on my blogs and building my YouTube page.

It’s tough because it’s a big jump from earning over $1000 from one page, to earning hardly a dollar an article. Medium has changed drastically, and now you articles don’t get viral on their own via the algorithm, you must get boosted by a paid boost nominator, and as a nominator, you can nominate whoever you like. Therefore, there is so much nepotism on Medium right now.

These nominators are nominating their friends and associates more than anyone else. That’s what I’ve noticed anyway.

I’m not bitter, I’ve just got to a point where I’m not so excited about the platform anymore.

Start Sharing Your articles

Honestly, I didn’t spend any time marketing my Medium articles before. I would literally, post, leave one or two comments, and leave. I didn’t have to put in effort to boost my articles, it was an easy hustle to be honest.

Now, you must spend time sharing your articles, you have no choice if you want to make money from the Partner Program.

It sounds like a whole lot doesn’t it? That’s because it is! Medium is literally a full-time job now, but I still think it’s worth posting there at least once a week.

I post trending content by searching for articles on Google News, then I rewrite the content. It’s so easy to do this, and it will certainly increase your income.

Although I’ve always had successful blogs, I never get comfortable when it comes to making money, so I’m always hustling to build my income. People behave as if making money online is some easy thing, it’s not. Yes, it does get easier over time, but it requires patience, and some effort. You must put in the effort to achieve your financial goals when it comes to building online income streams.

So, I’ve built several faceless YouTube channels, and I’m still building YouTube channels now. It’s really simple to sign up, and you can start earning in your first month. You’ll more than likely earn $100 in your first month, or more.

Write about well-kwown brands and people

Don’t focus on writing about unknown topics. Write about popular people, and utilize the power of fame to build your online brand on Medium.

For example, a while back, I published an article about Will Smith based on him slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. This was big news and trust me, if you focus on evergreen and trending content, your page will grow quickly. When I say quickly, I mean that it will grow in about six months to a year. Gone are the days when you can just post and see traction straight away, it takes time. It’s a real hustle and grind to build your Medium page these days, but I still think it’s worth it.
