I’m failing my 100 days of content challenge on Vocal Media
Will I continue?
I made the decision to start a 100-days of content challenge right here on Vocal Media, and on YouTube however, I’m struggling to keep it going on Vocal, but I’m staying consistent on YouTube, posting daily without feeling burned out. However, when it comes to posting on Vocal, I’m really struggling.
I have to be honest, I lost my passion for writing when my first Medium account got suspended. Then the second one got suspended, and began to focus on posting videos instead of articles.
I’m not sure if I want to focus on video creation, but at the moment, I don’t feel like posting daily on Vocal. In 2025, I plan to only focus on the things that bring me joy, and right now, writing non-fiction content isn’t so exciting anymore.
That might change, but for now, I’m not feeling it.
I think I need to start writing poems again, that brings me joy. So, you might get to see some more of my recent poems in the next few weeks.
Why did I decide to do a 100-day challenge in the first place?
Deciding to embark on a 100-day writing challenge on Vocal Media was not just a spur-of-the-moment decision; it stemmed from a deep desire to enhance my writing skills, cultivate creativity, and connect with a community of like-minded individuals. Here’s why I took the plunge into this transformative journey.
Embracing Consistency
One of the primary motivations for participating in the 100-day writing challenge was the need for consistency in my writing practice. Writing is an art that flourishes with regular engagement, and committing to a daily routine seemed like the perfect way to establish that discipline. As Tim Clare mentions in his introduction to the challenge, committing to just 10 minutes of writing each day can lead to significant progress over time. This gentle yet ambitious approach appealed to me, as it promised growth without overwhelming pressure.
Overcoming Creative Blocks
Like many writers, I often struggle with creative blocks. The fear of producing "bad" writing can be paralyzing. By committing to this challenge, I aimed to confront and dismantle those fears. The structure of a 100-day commitment allows for experimentation and exploration without the burden of perfectionism. Each day presents an opportunity to write freely, embrace mistakes, and learn from them—transforming what might feel like failure into valuable lessons.
Cultivating Community
Another compelling reason for joining this challenge was the opportunity to connect with other writers. Vocal Media provides a platform where writers can share their work and support one another. Engaging with a community of fellow participants not only fosters accountability but also creates an environment rich in inspiration and encouragement. Sharing experiences, challenges, and triumphs with others who are on similar journeys can be incredibly motivating.
Exploring New Ideas
The 100-day format encourages writers to step outside their comfort zones and explore diverse topics and styles. Each day presents a new prompt or theme that can spark creativity and lead to unexpected discoveries. This exploration is essential for growth as a writer; it pushes boundaries and challenges preconceived notions about what I am capable of creating.
Personal Growth and Reflection
Beyond improving my writing skills, this challenge serves as a personal growth journey. Writing is inherently reflective, allowing me to process thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Dedicating time each day to write provides a space for introspection and self-discovery. As I document my thoughts and feelings over these 100 days, I anticipate uncovering insights that extend beyond writing itself.
Conclusion
In conclusion, my decision to undertake the 100-day writing challenge on Vocal Media is rooted in a desire for consistency, community, exploration, and personal growth. This journey promises not only to enhance my writing skills but also to foster connections with others who share my passion for storytelling. As I embark on this adventure, I look forward to embracing each day’s challenges and celebrating the progress made along the way. Here’s to 100 days of creativity, reflection, and growth!

So are you going to continue with it or stick with the videos? You know, poetry might be the way to go, even if you commit to a haiku or senryu every day. You'll be writing something at least, feel good about reaching the goal and it might provide more monentum.
It's inspiring to see how you've reflected on your journey and the importance of focusing on what brings you joy. Poetry sounds like a wonderful way to reconnect with your passion for writing. If you have a moment, I'd be thrilled if you could check out my latest stories and share your thoughts. Your feedback would mean a lot to me
