I Know Who My Biggest Fan Is
Which Medium Writer is Enjoying My Writing the Most?

Becoming a somewhat popular writer on any platform or website is pretty damn cool. I have discovered this after a pretty successful first ten months. I’m enjoying the groove I’m in with my writing, and I appreciate all of the wonderful writers I’m meeting here. Your comments are awesome and I love our banter back and forth.
I’ve been writing blogs since the beginning of this year. I’d never blogged before then. I’d been writing funnies on Myspace and Facebook for years and years, but I wasn’t a writer by any means. I only started blogging to get a small portfolio together for a content writing job. That wasn’t nearly as fun as blogging, though.
Blogging is my favorite writing so far. I love the idea of writing at least one solid blog daily. Usually, I’m able to publish two a day. They’re so much fun to write. I love the creative, artistic aspect of it. It’s been a hell of a first ten months.
After writing 290 blogs now, I’m feeling comfortable with the amount of writing I’ve been able to produce and the quality of most of it. It’s enjoyable to reread and I’m glad that so many people really seem to enjoy it. I couldn’t ask for better people to become friends with and appreciate their writing, and their interaction with mine.
That being said, I’ve finally figured out who my number one fan is. I’ve been studying all of my 290 writing pieces. I’ve reviewed the stats on every single one of them. I’ve analyzed their lifetime earnings, the amount of views, reads, and claps on each, and read all of the comments left on each piece.
It’s awesome to have a number of people that you really know have your back. If you told me to list my top five followers, I could. Top 10, easy. Top 20? I feel that I could do that as well. I know my closer circle pretty well after ten months.

But who’s my #1 fan? Is it close between two or three different people? Or is there one obvious choice that doesn’t require much thought? How would I be able to make a definitive choice of who my biggest fan is at this point?
It’s simple. It’s option #2. One obvious choice that doesn’t require much thought. I knew who it was as I was planning to write this piece. Let’s talk about the usual suspects here in this equation.
First obvious choice? My Bride. We’re best friends. She’s also a part-time writer here on Medium. She’s had a hell of a first two months writing here and doing pretty well on earnings, for being so new. She knows that reads equal income. Obviously, it’s her right?
Wrong. Not my biggest fan. I love her to death, but she’s busy. She works so hard at her own practice she owns, and then works for a second practice once a week that helps the refugee population in our area. Then she works at a grade school another day each week to counsel kids in need. If she doesn’t have time to keep up with every blog I write, I understand. I put a lot of them out there.
Ok, so my second guess for my biggest fan? It was to be one of my three kids. Oldest? He’s busy going to college, it’s his first few months away from home. Middle child? She's busy with her first year of college and her art. Youngest? Senior year of high school, starting the college process and dating a wonderful young lady, also a senior.
Ok, the family has let me down. Italians don’t take that kind of thing all that well. Never go against the family. My buddy Tom Russo is always saying that. Maybe it’s Russo, my biggest fan? Naw. I’m not even sure he can read. But the man can sure pick football scores.

It’s not even one of the big, well-known writers within the community that’s my biggest fan. Tim Denning, Jessica Wildfire, Kristina God, or Hogan Torah, you’ve got work to do if you’re going to pass up my super fan here. It’s ok, though. I know how busy you all are.
My biggest, #1 fan is me. I’ve reached a point where I believe in myself. I love what I’m doing. I am doing my best to put out an entertaining, thought-provoking, or funny piece as often as I can. I’m generally happy with the finished product.

I’m glad so many of my followers enjoy them, too. I’m getting close to 5000 followers now on Medium and a good number here on Vocal. I appreciate every one of you. It’s been so much fun creating 290 blogs now in ten months. Believe me, there will be more to come.
I’m not just saying that I’m my biggest fan. I believe it. I believe in myself and my ability to write about damn near anything and make it either funny, thought-provoking, or heart-warming. Sometimes it’s two of the three. Once in a while, I am fortunate enough to cover all three. I really give it my all.
I rarely re-read my blogs after I post them. At least not immediately or soon after. When I revisit some of my old ones, I really do enjoy them. Sometimes I forget that I have used certain paragraphs, sentences, or words within any given piece. If it’s a funny one, I make myself laugh once again. I love when that happens.

The biggest thing I wish for you all is to feel this way about your own writing. I love reading so many of your articles and blogs. Bouncin’ and Behavin’ Blogs is now over three months old. We’ve published so many wonderful pieces of writing. I’ve read every one of them that’s come across for approval
We have a hell of a talented writing staff. Your articles have made me laugh, cry, learn, and feel anger at injustices and difficult-to-read articles. One sign of a truly great writer is the ability to make people feel emotions. I hope that when you’re writing your own stuff, you’re feeling them too. Or after, once the piece is complete. Maybe months later, when you revisit it.
So please, tell me when you've written something you are proud of. Tag me in it, in case I don’t see it. I want to be your second biggest fan. Because I want you to be your biggest one. &:^)
