I am Imran Bin Ilias — and this is my story.

Annual day out in Rangamati, 2024

I was born on May 5, 1998, in Chattogram, Bangladesh, and like many people around me, I come from a humble background where nothing was ever handed to me easily. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned from life so far, it’s this: you don’t need a perfect start to build a meaningful future.

How it began…

Maf shoes garden, 2024

In 2017, I completed my SSC at A.K. Khan UCEP TVET School. I always loved working with my hands and understanding how things work, so I decided to pursue a diploma in mechanical engineering at Chattogram Polytechnic Institute. I was excited, motivated, and ready to build a strong career.

Everything was going fine. I made it all the way to my 6th semester, but then the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020—and like it did for so many families, it turned my life upside down. My family started struggling financially, and I couldn’t afford to continue my education.

It was heartbreaking to let go of my dream at that point, but I didn’t have time to sit and be sad about it. I had to stand up for my family, take responsibility, and earn a living. That’s when I entered the workforce.

My first job—the start of a new chapter

In September 2020, I joined MAF Shoes Limited as an assistant mechanic. I was new to the working world, but I learned fast. I listened, I asked questions, and I did my best—every single day. Slowly, I started gaining experience and confidence. Over time, I was promoted and now work as a junior mechanic.

This job has been more than just a paycheck. It’s taught me the value of discipline, teamwork, technical knowledge, and, most importantly, gratitude. I know what it’s like to work hard to survive, and that experience has shaped my mindset forever.

A dream that didn’t die

Even though I had to pause my education, I never paused my dreams.

While working, I discovered the world of online business. I was fascinated by the opportunities on the internet, especially platforms like Shopify. I saw people starting from scratch and building successful online stores, and something inside me clicked.

I started learning everything I could about e-commerce, Shopify, content writing, and SEO. I watched videos, read blogs, took notes, and practiced writing on my own. I realized I had a passion not just for engineering but also for digital marketing and creative writing.

Now, every day after work, I spend my evenings learning new skills. I believe that knowledge is power, and I want to use what I’m learning to build my own brand, my own business, and someday, my own freedom.

What drives me

To be honest, I’ve seen tough times. I’ve had days where I couldn’t afford something simple and nights where I questioned everything. But I always reminded myself, “Imran, you’re not quitting. You’re just getting started.”

What keeps me going is the vision of a better future. I want to give back to my parents, who sacrificed so much for me. I want to build something I can be proud of. And I want to inspire others who might feel stuck—just like I did.

You don’t need to be rich, famous, or a genius to start something great. You just need a reason and the courage to start. I have both.

My goals moving forward

iftar time with friends
  • ✅ Become a successful Shopify store owner
  • ✅ Get skilled in SEO, content writing, and digital marketing
  • ✅ Create passive income streams so I can support my family long-term
  • ✅ Share my journey with others, especially those who feel lost or stuck
  • ✅ Stay humble, stay learning, and never forget where I started

Right now, I’m still working my job and learning online skills during my free time. I’m not where I want to be yet—but I’m on my way, and that’s what matters most.

Final thoughts

If you’re reading this and you’ve faced setbacks, I want to tell you something from my heart:

"Don’t give up just because life got hard. Every struggle is shaping you into someone stronger. Keep pushing. Keep believing. One day it will all make sense."

Thanks for taking the time to read my story. If you’re someone who’s into digital skills, Shopify, or writing, or just wants to connect with a dreamer who’s doing his best—you’re always welcome to reach out.

Let’s grow together. 🌱
