Choose a Niche

Like most other businesses, you need to know who your target audience is and what you’re going to teach them. Before you start teaching others how to affiliate market, make sure that there’s a demand for it in your niche. There’s nothing worse than creating a product that no one wants.

Choose a Commission Program/Affiliate Network

There are plenty of affiliate networks you can join and many will provide affiliate marketing training, but when you’re just starting out it’s best to stick with Amazon. They have a robust platform, large product selection, and excellent support. This is my personal favorite affiliate network for beginners and it's what I use.

Create Your Website

Once you’ve settled on a niche, it’s time to start making money. To do that, you’ll need a website. For many people, an easy option is affiliate marketing: You sign up for an affiliate program (like Amazon or Google), then drive traffic to that site in exchange for a commission on any sales.

Create Content

Without creating content, you don’t have a site. You can write as many articles as you want without getting any real traffic if you have no way of showing people what your business is about. Content should be a big part of your affiliate marketing strategy if you want it to pay off for you. If you aren’t sure where to start, try creating content in these areas

Promote Your Business on Social Media Platforms

One of my personal favorite ways to make money online is through affiliate marketing, which means promoting other people’s products and services. You have probably seen ads on social media platforms such as Facebook or Instagram that look something like, 27 year old blogger shows you how she makes $500 a day from home! Pro Tip: I never click these types of ads!

Brand Yourself Online and Offline

It all starts with a website. It doesn’t have to be expensive or fancy, but it should reflect your brand, be mobile-friendly, and contain a solid About Me page that includes links to your social media profiles. If you need help designing or updating your site, you can easily find sites online that will do it for cheap—or even better, get some pro friends involved and do it together.
