So, you're feeling like a zombie. You've got dark circles under your eyes, your energy levels are at an all-time low, and you're craving coffee or any other caffeinated beverage just to stay awake. In this post, we'll go over some ways to make it through the day when you feel like a zombie so that you have a successful day and can get home as soon as possible!

Figure out any underlying issues.

When you feel like a zombie, it is important to figure out what is causing it. If you are getting enough sleep and still tired, then there may be an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. This could include stress or illness. If this is the case, see a doctor right away. Do not wait until tomorrow because if you do not get treated now, your fatigue could turn into something worse later on down the line.

If there are no physical causes for your lack of energy, then try relaxing more often by taking some time off from work or school and spending some time doing things that make you feel good about yourself again (e.g., reading a book). If possible try changing up the foods that are being consumed during the day - maybe going vegetarian will help boost energy levels instead of meat being eaten every night when cooking dinner?

Eat something healthy.

When it comes to eating, there are a few things you want to do. First and foremost is your breakfast. This meal should be high in protein but low in sugar. A hard boiled egg with a side of nuts or whole grain toast is an excellent option. You also don't want to skip lunch! This will keep your energy up and prevent you from crashing around 3pm or so when everyone else starts getting tired as well. Stick with lean proteins like chicken breast or fish alongside vegetables, plenty of healthy fats (like avocado) and some whole grains or legumes for a balanced meal that will give both short term and long term energy boosts while keeping blood sugar levels stable throughout the day.

Get some exercise.

As an alternative to the coffee-and-chocolate routine, try getting some exercise. Exercise helps you wake up, but it also works better than caffeine at helping you sleep. A study conducted by the Mayo Clinic found that regular exercise can help people fall asleep faster and get deeper sleep.

Exercise has been shown to be effective for controlling weight and reducing stress levels as well. In fact, one study showed that exercising just fifteen minutes a day was enough to improve psychological well-being among people suffering from depression or anxiety disorders (though it's important to note this does not replace medication).

Try a new beverage.

If you're feeling particularly sluggish, try a new beverage. Caffeine is a great way to wake up and boost your energy levels, but it's important to know how much caffeine is too much (or not enough). And if you don't want caffeine, there are still other options for waking yourself up - like lemon water or tea!

To make a new beverage:

  • Brew some tea using fresh leaves or black tea bags (depending on your preference) in hot water. Let it steep until the color darkens slightly and then strain out the tea leaves/bags. You can add some honey if desired (a teaspoon per cup of tea is recommended).
  • Mix up some iced coffee by pouring just under 1 cup of hot coffee over ice cubes in a glass mason jar until they're completely covered with coffee, then seal with the lid and shake vigorously until all ice has melted; enjoy cold! It will taste best if prepared immediately before drinking because once it's been chilled it will get hard again very quickly due to lack of preservatives added during production at restaurants where most people order from instead of making their own drinks at home like us citizens who live outside major metropolitan areas do.

Give your body and mind a break.

The first step to having a successful day is to recognize the fact that you are tired. If this is an ongoing problem for you, then you need to find ways to increase your daily energy. But if it's just been one of those mornings, take a deep breath and accept that there is nothing wrong with being tired. Instead of focusing on how tired you are and what needs doing today, allow yourself some time for rest and relaxation.

This doesn't mean turning off your brain completely; instead, use these methods as a way of getting re-energized:

  • Take a nap - but not too long! Your body naturally craves more sleep during midafternoon than at any other time during the day. If possible, try taking a quick nap in your work clothes so they don't get wrinkled while napping at work (but don't let anyone catch you!). This will give both mind and body some much-needed rest without compromising productivity once fully awake again in about 30 minutes or less (depending on how long ago lunch was eaten).
  • Go for walk outside or around building(s). The fresh air will do wonders for overall health and well-being while also providing temporary distraction from whatever task needs completing next on your list so there's no excuse not to go! Try listening to music while walking around outside versus sitting inside being bored outta my mind!! Be sure not forget any important documents before leaving though….and possibly bring along snacks just incase hunger strikes unexpectedly…

Which by the way, I have been doing this since the pandemic; I use this app to record my steps plus earn a little extra mula while doing so. This morning I did 5,352 steps. If you're interested, sign up to Sweatcoins here.
