Personally, I see TikTok as an avenue for businesses to gain awareness and not to advertise their products directly.
As a business who wants to gain customers through TikTok, you need to follow the trend.
Create funny videos based on your industry — a graphic design agency can make funny videos about graphic design e.g the painful moment when Photoshop stops working and doesn't recover files e.t.c
You can make short and helpful tutorials — a bag making company can create a short video on how to achieve a particular design when making a bag.
You can creatively sell your products directly — let's say you're business is fixing a popular problem, you can make a video that will show them how your business can solve the problem.
The bottom line is that, you need to be creative inorder to get traffic to your business on TikTok
How many views are viral on TikTok?
Let look at one of the most famous accounts on Tiktok, which is Charlie Demilio's account with more than 100M followers. Most of the Charlie videos have views between 30M and 60 M on average. Some videos have been watched by more than 118M users.
Let take someone famous and educational like @bradshear. He has a video that tells students that a teacher can get arrested if he grabs a student's arm with 17.2M views.
I think going virals don’t depend on just a number of views, but it also depends on the topic. If the topic is entertainment, the number of views should be larger than 10 M, and if it is a less competitive topic the number of views should be larger than 5M.
In general, let say that videos considered viral if it at least gets to 500,000 views. This is the entry-level of a viral video. When a video crosses 1,000,000 views, its medium viral. When its got 3,000,000 or more views, it is now in mega-viral status.
After selecting your niche, look at the popular hashtags and popular creators at your niche, and look at how many views they have.

How tiktok ads work
You can advertise ON TikTok directly using the self service platform same as Facebook. Or you target audience network on Facebook and it will also include TikTok.
Overall I run ads in Thailand and the broad targeting CPM is around at 30 thb and cpc 3 thb. It's great for branding.
The main audience age range is from 13 to 25. If your potential audience age is more than that I would not recommend running tiktok ads.
