Here’s How to Make Money With TikTok Without Making Videos
Instead of scrolling for fun, start scrolling for funds
Most content creators will say that video is the way forward, and if you’re not on YouTube or any other video platform such as TikTok, you’re missing out. I do agree with this in some way because studies do suggest that people prefer to watch videos now.
For example, one study indicated that 59% of users chose video tutorials over blog posts when given the option, while 41% opted for blogs. This suggests a growing inclination towards video content as a preferred medium for information consumption
Some creators prefer to write, but you don’t have to miss out on the popularity of video as a content writer or blogger. Tap into video virality using platforms such as TikTok and YouTube, to create curated content.
For example, right now, there is a major trend on TikTok and YouTube where creators make cucumber salad recipes, the trend started in early 2024, and it’s still popular now, at the end of the year.
If you create lifestyle content, you can jump on this trend by creating recipe articles and list the top ten cucumber salad recipes on TikTok or YouTube. You can also recreate the salads and write an article about it.
BuzzFeed does this really well by identifying TikTok trends and creating articles about these trends. Here’s an example of this right here.
Another website that jumps on TikTok trends well is The EveryGirl. Here’s an article where they demonstrate this:
As you can see, it’s not difficult to create this type of content, and if you’re smart about it, you could easily build a six-figure income in the next 12 months using this method.
Firstly, it’s fun, and you’ll learn so much about what’s trending online. For example, in 2024, I’ve made more than 50 cucumber salad recipes, just to try them out, and to create content, and honestly, I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.
Also, I’ve consumed more fruits and vegetables this year as a result of this experiment.
In 2025, I’m ploughing through more TikTok and YouTube content to build a 6 figure curated content business. I’ve done it before, and I can do it again. The truth is, I’m not doing this full-time anymore, I work about four hours a day on this and it’s not difficult at all.
Here’s the process:
Find out what’s trending on TikTok by searching “TikTok trends” on TikTok itself or Google. I like to type “TikTok trends 2023” or “TikTok trends 2024.” You can also type niche specific TikTok trends such as “TikTok summer fashion trends.”
I’m interested in lifestyle content in general and I like the way creators such as On the Cheap Tip on YouTube test and rate trends. You can do this by writing articles alone, however, I like to double up by doing videos as well.
Once you’ve identified what’s trending, create a list of article ideas by searching for inspiration on Buzzfeed, The EveryGirl, and Reader’s Digest. Once you have at least 30 article ideas, get to work.
In 2025, I’m going to focus on recipes and skincare mostly. I enjoy this type of content the most. For this, you can do whatever takes your fancy.
I’ll publish on Vocal, as I use Vocal as a place for creativity. I don’t focus on a specific niche here, so it’ll be fun. However, I’ll also create a Medium page and eventually a website where I recreate and test viral recipes and skincare trends from TikTok and YouTube.
This should be fun! As a neurodivergent creator, I’m always coming up with new ideas and I have fun creating them and putting them out there, even if they don’t work, I still love to create. I’ve built several successful online businesses over the years, and I’m looking forward to building more in the future.
