Here’s How I’m Reviving my Medium Page
Let's get back on track with Medium
I left Medium for a while, it got stale. The endless rule changes and lack of transparency became so frustrating for me, I had to take a break. Also, one of my Medium pages got suspended for promoting my newsletter and “plagiarism.” They asked for evidence that I owned the I'd articles from my blog, and after three weeks, they restored my account.
Sadly, my earnings dropped from 1000 dollars a month to 200 dollars after that, so I made the painful decision to abandon that page to focus on my YouTube channels, blogs, and building my software development career.
Anyway, I’m back on track with Medium now, and I’m working on a 75 day challenge over there. I have to admit, after the challenge, I’ll only post once a week over there to focus on my blogs, building out my newsletters, and scaling my software development business. I don’t have any intention of putting all my eggs into the Medium basket again.
Here’s how I plan to revive my Medium page without burning out:
Build topical authority with a 75 day challenge
When I’m starting a new blog, my goal is to build topical authority by creating several articles about the same topic. For example, on Medium, I’m working on several articles about building income streams by using well known platforms. My first ten articles will focus on using Google as as a content ideation tool.
Here’s an article I wrote about Google News a while back on Medium, I’ll write more stories about Google News, Google Search, Google Gemini, and Google Trends. Then, I’ll link all the articles by adding them as links in each article.
Building topical authority is the fastest way to grow on platforms such as Medium or YouTube because your articles will eventually appear first in the platform search results and Google search.
When you type “How to make money with Google News” into Google, you’ll find that my Vocal article is one of the top search results.

At one point, my Medium Google News article was at the top of the search results. However, since I’ve stopped posting on there and creating content about Google News, it’s dropped right down to page six.
The beauty of posting articles on Vocal and Medium is that they are both high domain authority websites. Medium is right at the top with a domain authority of 94, and Vocal also stands tall with a domain authority of 81. Therefore, posting high-value, educational content on these platforms offers a significant advantage in terms of search engine visibility and potential reach.
Throughout my 75 day challenge, I’ll post ten articles for each topic. Towards the end of the challenge, I’ll analyse my stats and produce five more articles on the topics that have gained the most traction.
Revive Old Articles
I have more than 1000 articles on Medium, and most of these articles are dead in the water. So, instead of leaving them to gather digital dust, I’ll go through some of these old articles and update them, or delete them, rewrite them, and post them again. Medium forbids deleting and reposting however, I won’t post the exact article, I’ll change the title and rewrite parts of the article.
I have a wonderful article on Medium about boosting your creativity, and that article is buried deep inside the Medium archives gaining no traction at all, which is sad because at one point, the article was right up with there the top articles on the platform. I’ll revive that article by rewriting it, creating a YouTube video, sharing it on Pinterest, and rewriting it for my blog, newsletter, and Vocal.
Add Medium article links to other content
I have several YouTube channels, a Vocal page, a newsletter, and several blogs. When I publish related content, I’ll share my Medium article links to create a spider web effect. The more I post links across these platforms, the stronger the interconnectedness of my content becomes, potentially boosting the visibility and discoverability of all my work.
Study the Platform and see what’s working
I don’t like to follow the crowd, I like to set my own trends however, my goal is to revive my Medium page therefore, I will spend more time studying the platform to see what’s working at the moment. The truth is, Medium are changing rules left, right and center, and one thing I’ve noticed is, they are tired of “make money online” content. They don’t want clickbait topics with misleading information. My main topics of expertise are make money online and personal growth.
Therefore, I have to find new ways to create valuable content without appearing clickbaity. Honestly, I prefer to create content based on my personal experiences of using certain methods and platforms to make money online.
So, my Medium articles will be more like a digital diary showing people how I make money online, and how I use certain personal growth methods to enhance my productivity, manage my mindset, and ultimately achieve my financial goals.
In conclusion, my return to Medium is a calculated effort to leverage its high domain authority while avoiding past pitfalls. This revival strategy centers on a focused 75-day challenge to build topical authority, alongside the strategic repurposing and interlinking of existing content across my various platforms. By prioritizing genuine value and drawing from my personal experiences, I aim to rebuild a meaningful presence on Medium, albeit with a balanced approach that ensures it complements, rather than dominates, my broader content ecosystem and professional pursuits.
Right now, I'm doing 100 articles in 30 days, this is day 13 of the challenge. I've published 24 articles in that time,I'm almost halfway through the challenge, so I have to step up my efforts to complete the 100 articles in 30 days. I know I can do it because I've done it before on Medium, and I'm fully focused on getting this done.
