From Zero to Top Rated Seller:My Journey as a Fiverr Freelancer
How i turned a simple skill into a full-time income with shopify, dropshipping, and hustle- and how you can do it too.

Introduction: From University Desk to Freelancing Desk
Seven years ago, I was sitting in my university lab, halfway through my 4th semester of a BS Software Engineering degree, wondering how I could earn something for myself — without waiting years to graduate and find a job.
I didn’t have industry experience or connections.
But I had time, a laptop, and the will to learn.
That’s when I discovered Fiverr — a platform where anyone could sell their services to clients across the world. It felt like a spark of hope. So, I signed up and created my first gig.
It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t even professional.
But it was my start.
How I Taught Myself E-Commerce & Shopify
I had no mentor or formal course in e-commerce. I just explored.
I started watching YouTube tutorials on Shopify, browsing trending products, studying dropshipping models, and analyzing high-performing stores. I created demo stores, broke things, fixed them, and kept improving.
Soon, I launched a Fiverr gig offering Shopify store design and setup. I priced it low — around $20 — and waited for my first order.
It came from a client in the U.S.I worked on that first store for almost 10 hours straight, pouring in everything I had learned.
That one $20 order taught me more than any assignment: how to handle clients, deliver value, and build trust.
Growing From Scratch to Top Rated Seller
I didn’t become successful overnight. I slowly optimized my gigs, updated thumbnails, clarified descriptions, and made my services sharper and more specific. I also kept adding new services — like:
Dropshipping product research
Niche selection and competitor analysis
Store redesign and conversion optimization
What made a real difference? Communication and overdelivering.
Even if I charged $30, I’d deliver work worth $100.
Clients noticed.
They returned.
They referred others.
And eventually, I became a Fiverr Top Rated Seller.
Real Lessons I Learned Along the Way
🎓 Freelancing can teach you more than a classroom.
💻 You don’t need fancy tools to start — just focus and execution.
🙋♂️ Always treat your clients like partners.
🧠 Keep learning. The online world changes fast.
There were tough days.
Slow months.
Difficult clients.
But I never quit.
Because I knew every struggle was building the career I wanted — a freedom-based, skill-driven, global freelance life.
Tips for Beginners in Freelancing & E-Commerce
If you’re new and trying to start on Fiverr or in Shopify, here’s what I’d recommend:
Niche down. Don’t just offer “Shopify setup” — offer “One-product Shopify stores for fashion” or “Winning product research for pet stores.”
Use the tools smartly. Tools like CJ Dropshipping, AutoDS, and Dripshipper helped me streamline work and offer better service.
Deliver more than expected. Your reputation is your strongest marketing.
Don’t fear small orders. They’re your training ground.
Be patient. Growth is slow, but consistency compounds.
Final Thoughts
I didn’t start with much — no experience, no money, just a laptop and a goal.
But today, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients, built countless Shopify stores, and created a full-time career out of freelancing and e-commerce.
If you're at the beginning of your journey, remember this:
👉 You don’t need permission to succeed online. You just need to start.
