From the Battlefield to the Boardroom - The Journey of Alex Rozwadowski
Bridging Military Service and Business Leadership

As I sit back and reflect on my life's journey, I'm struck by the diverse experiences that have shaped who I am today.
Born in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, my journey has been a collage of experiences and challenges that have shaped the person I am today.
From the bustling streets of Rio to the disciplined grounds of military bases, and from the serene landscapes of Switzerland to the dynamic real estate market of Georgia, I am reminded of the resilience and growth that each chapter has brought, leading to an unwavering commitment to excellence.
I'm Alex Rozwadowski, and this is my story.
Early Years in Brazil
Growing up in Rio de Janeiro, I was immersed in a culture rich with music, dance, and a profound sense of community. The city's energy was infectious, and it instilled in me a zest for life and an appreciation for diverse cultures. Early exposure to diversity would later become a cornerstone in my personal and professional interactions.
A New Beginning in the United States
At the age of 10, my family made the pivotal decision to relocate to the United States. The transition was both exciting and challenging. Adapting to a new culture, language, and environment required resilience.
I attended Fairfield College Preparatory School in Connecticut, where I developed a passion for sports, particularly tennis. This passion would later open doors to opportunities I hadn't yet envisioned.
Answering the Call: Military Service
In 1994, driven by a desire to serve and challenge myself, I enlisted in the U.S. Army. Graduating from Airborne School was a proud moment, but being selected for the Ranger Indoctrination Program and subsequently assigned to B Company of the 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Ft. Benning was transformative.
The rigorous training and the camaraderie shared with fellow Rangers instilled in me the values of discipline, leadership, and perseverance. It shaped my character and deepened my appreciation for service and sacrifice, but most of all taught me the true meaning of loyalty.
As G. K. Chesterton said, "The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him."
Embracing Academia and International Finance
Following my military service, I was fortunate to receive a tennis scholarship to Georgia State University. There, I pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) and graduated with honors.
The world of finance intrigued me, leading me across the Atlantic to Zurich, Switzerland. Working as an analyst at Rothschild Private Bank in Zurich provided invaluable lessons in precision and global finance.
The city's efficient infrastructure and reputation as a financial hub created an ideal environment for my professional growth. Strolling through Zurich, I was continually inspired by its harmonious blend of medieval structures and contemporary designs, reflecting a city that honors its past while embracing the future.
Returning to Roots: Building a Legacy in Real Estate
Despite the enriching experiences abroad, the call of the familiar brought me back to Columbus, Georgia. An opportunity to co-found a real estate office with my best friend, Shep Mullin, resonated deeply.
Our shared vision led to the establishment of CENTURY 21 Premier Real Estate in 2003. We aimed to create a firm that stood for integrity and community engagement.
Achieving Excellence: Recognitions and Awards
Our relentless pursuit of excellence bore fruit. Over the past seven years, our office has consistently achieved the Double Centurion status, placing us among the top CENTURY 21 offices globally.
With over 14,000 independent offices worldwide, being in the top 100 in sales volume is a testament to our team's dedication and the trust our clients place in us. In April 2024, we were honored with the Double Centurion Award in Las Vegas, a recognition we hold in high esteem.
Community Engagement: Beyond Business
I believe our success is deeply connected to the well-being of our community. That's why we actively support initiatives like the "Back the Blue" Golf Tournament in Columbus, GA, and the Smith Station, Alabama Youth Football program. These events unite our community and offer young athletes mentorship and growth opportunities.
Honoring Heroes: Wreaths Across America
Supporting Wreaths Across America holds a special place in my heart. This initiative, which lays wreaths at the graves of veterans, is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women. Having walked the path of military service, participating in this cause is both a duty and an honor.
Embracing Diversity: A Multilingual Approach
Being fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish has been invaluable in connecting with a diverse range of clients. It allows me to understand their unique needs and provide personalized service, ensuring everyone feels valued and heard.
Personal Passions: Reading and Traveling
Outside of work, I have a deep appreciation for reading and traveling. Exploring new places and immersing myself in different cultures enriches my life and broadens my perspective. New experiences inspire me and keep me grounded, fueling my commitment to both personal and professional growth.
Looking Ahead
As I reflect on my journey—I am filled with gratitude. Each chapter has been a lesson, each experience a stepping stone.
In Columbus, I've found more than just a place to work; I've found a community that values connection, growth, and resilience. The collaborative spirit evident in local initiatives inspires me daily.
The road ahead is bright, paved with opportunities to learn, connect, and grow alongside the wonderful people of Columbus. Here's to embracing the journey, together.
