It is a type of German sausage which is prepared commonly from pork and less commonly from beef or veal. It's a finely chopped meat which is either pan fried or roasted. Beef and veal are usually used along with pork. Beef or veal is usually used for halal and Kosher Bratwurst which is why pork is not used due to religious reasons. It is famous almost all over Germany and it is usually served in sets of six or twelve.

Schnitzel

Over the years, schnitzel has evolved and taken on many variations.

Sauerkraut
