Dream log #7
Dreaming of cinemas with strange rules.
I want to keep up to date with these dream logs cause some of them are bizarre. The you get others that make no sense and some just stay with you for a long time. This is one of those dreams because it it all set in one place. It was set in an Odean Cinema that no longer exists but the layout reminds me of the theatre at my local arts centre because of the way the seats are stacked up and the way the darkness loomed.
A lot of memory blending and colours mixing. Most if my dreams tend to focus on quirkyness. Memories seem to blend like this all the time in my dreams. The ones I remember always seem to be the ones where I feel vulnerable, lost or unsure how to process. Its been quite good to write things down cause I think that’s how I process them. To others they may just be dreams, but I wonder if they offer a window to our mind.
The film being showed was Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire. I grew up with the Harry Potter films and books, but the films are the ones I go back to the most. I still remember playing the games and how the characters have left an impact on me. JK Rowling made me the person I am today, so I can’t bring myself to cancel her even if the internet dictates me to do so. She’s the reason why so many people hold a pen. I’ve seen the film a lot of times and most people say it’s the weakest film of the series. I think I have a connection to the film because it’s the first film I watched after my first suicide attempt.
I went with a friend to watch the film. The friend is someone I see a lot in the week and reminds me a lot of an old friend who passed away from cancer two years ago. They would have got on if they had ever met. They would have found the rules of the cinema a joke. In real life I don’t think they would have come. The real strange requirement was that everyone watching the film would be in their underwear and it had to stand out. I’m not sure why, dreams seem to be strange like that. I was covering myself up whilst others were quite proud of their sonic the hedgehog boxers. I’m surprised now body in the theatre were throwing popcorn in the air. Though half way through the film, it is suddenly hijacked by aliens.
We ended up watching Harry Potter and some random aliens instead. It was confusing cause the the film is quite blue in some scenes and then all of a sudden the screen is grey and hues of green emerge when the aliens take over. Though if you have seen the movie version of Voldemort, he does look like one without his nose.
There were like hundreds of these aliens charging towards Harry, but he managed to conquer them all until one was left. Though we never get to see the film’s conclusion.
During a fight between Harry and a three-headed alien with Voldemort in it’s belly, the film stopped. The lights went on and the usher pointed at a guy with his phone in front of the whole theatre and yelled “STOP FILMING!”
I remember covering myself in a pink dress. I woke up after that. I sometimes wonder how the film would have turned out had the dream had lasted any longer.
