Tammy Reese:

What inspired you to become an artist?

Christina Stoddard:

What inspired me to be an artist was the learning to draw books from my Mom, watching Bob Ross on t.v., my Fathers artistic talent, my Creator telling me to draw what I've seen. My inspiration for some of my art comes from my Son sending me pictures from his adventures.

Tammy Reese:

What are some of the most memorable moments in your career so far?

Christina Stoddard:

Some memorable moment's in my career so far would have to be when my son surprised with a trip to Paris, France. A childhood dream of mine had come true and has always been one of my inspirations in life and art. My painting is printed in a magazine, calendar, and hanging at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse N.Y. through (Arise) another dream come true.

The smiles of people who have viewed, purchased or been given my art as a gift. Having had many art shows and exhibits. Having a film documentary of my life done by students at Syracuse University, and the film debut. Speaking to some of the medical professionals at Syracuse University. All the people sent in my life to be part of this journey all are truly amazing.

Tammy Reese:

What have been some obstacles in your life that you have overcome and resulted in triumph?

Christina Stoddard:

Some obstacles I've experienced that have resulted in triumph are being a SURVIVOR of domestic violence. Having had Breast Cancer that has cleared up. Having drug and alcohol addiction. Coming up Feb 14th on 7 years clean and sober having Victory!

Living with addictive personality disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD. Isolating from the world for years. Finding my true self, my worth and true potential. Thank God for my emotional support pets, the positive family, and friends. Also, all the work, understanding, unconditional love, and my therapist for many years.

My art is my therapy. Giving to others, sharing love, helping guide others on ending self-destructive patterns helps me to be a better person and have a purpose too.

Tammy Reese:

How has the pandemic shaped your day-to-day life?

Christina Stoddard:

The pandemic has shaped my life day-to-day by helping me live in the moment, helping me appreciate each moment. Having a positive routine, knowing when to take a break (a day off ), and staying grateful.

Tammy Reese:

What social awareness topics do you think need to be spoken more on in our current climate?

Christina Stoddard:

Some social awareness issues I think should be spoken about more in society is why would people have hate, violence, drugs, and the life of destruction that comes with all of them. I hope people can have healed in the process to loving and not hating.

Tammy Reese:

What are you currently working on?

Christina Stoddard:

I am currently working on being the best version of myself. Not judging others but understanding more. Living my life while not hiding from it. Appreciating seeing the good in others and life. I'm working on staying centered, and journaling.

With my art, I'm currently working on a series of photos from Paris.

Tammy Reese:

What do you want your legacy to look like?

Christina Stoddard:

I want my legacy to be motivation for my Daughter, Son, Grands, and others to learn from my journey through life. So that they also can grow strong and help others on their paths.

Tammy Reese:

What advice would you have for others to overcome their obstacles?

Christina Stoddard:

The advice I would give is to realize that life is a process so walk it through. Know that you are worth it, and you deserve to be happy.

Choices = Consequences.
