Many Gen Z-ers aspire to build an online community. They hope to make their career as an influencer.

You may be overwhelmed by the prospect of building an online community. You know that you want to make money online, but you don't really understand what kinds of activities you need to engage in to make money.

Start Now

Before you start doing the work necessary to identify and create your online community, be very clear why you are in business in the first place. You need to answer some basic questions for yourself. Why do you matter? What can you offer that no one else can? How are you different? Answer these questions and you will be able to understand what kind of online community you need to target and build.

Enlist The Help of Others

Engage others in the community building process. The more people you get involved, the more likely other people are to become involved. It's kind of a snowball effect. You can network with others that have complementary online communities by offering to trade with them. Trade such things as mentions on blog posts, or appearances in videos or on podcasts, or even trade email lists for targeted campaigns.

Spread Your Content Around

Another great way to engage others in your online community is to use multiple social media platforms. For example, if your main focus is earning YouTube videos, you can spread similar content around other social media platforms. Sites such as Tik Tok, Facebook, Instagram, and even Twitter are great resources. Always link your postings back to your money-earning content. Each of these social media platforms allows you to reach members of your target audience quickly and easily, but in a slightly different way. This is particularly useful if you already have an audience but want to extend it. Use a variety of social media platforms. This also allows you to interact with a broader audience and share information with people outside of your core audience.

Work, Work, Work

It requires a bit of effort to create an Internet community. Be dedicated, diligent, creative, and motivated. You must engage with your audience every day. When you do this, you will be surprised at how quickly you develop and grow your community online. It really comes down to following through. Take action on a daily basis. You will be pleasantly surprised at how quickly you are able to develop a strong following.

Twitter

Twitter is a great way to develop relationships. When you tweet about your core strengths you develop a following. When you create a community online, you should think about the content you share. Social media is all about sharing interesting information with your audience. If you usually share sales tips, for example, only share your content with new people that are interested in sales. Keep your message focused. Your followers will not react positively to a pitch that is unrelated to the reason that they connected with you in the first place.

Facebook

Another great way to connect with your existing audience is through Facebook. Facebook is currently the second most popular site on the web. No matter what else you do, you should use Facebook as an additional means of engaging with your community.

Bottom Line

Social networks are the best way to engage with your target audience and build a community. Create content that is relevant to your audience. Great content lets you connect with people who are interested in what you have to say. Build a consistent brand and provide great content. Make your community feel that their questions and problems are answered when they read every word you write, and watch everything you post.
