Brain Drain : Reason of Slow Economic Development

Brain Drain

By Sumesh BhailaPublished 5 years ago 3 min read

Brain Drain in the country occurs when powerful citizens of the country with creative ability and ingenuity move to better countries abroad to find better job opportunities. This migration and movement of skilled people is known as the Brain Drain. The Brain Drain could be a significant loss to the nation because it loses its share of knowledgeable people, who could have made a significant contribution to the nation's economic and scientific achievements.

Brain Drain implies the loss of a country in its share of skilled and genius people. These talented people migrate to other countries, which promise them better career prospects. Throughout the last few years, the matter of Brain Drain has been of a growing concern for India. Due to its inability to provide better working conditions to its citizens, India is being drained of its potential brainpower. India is losing its considerable rightful share of laborers, workers, artists, doctors, engineers, etc. because it does not have adequate job opportunities. The countries abroad act as magnets to skilled people, because they promise them a better life, and far better work offers.

The Brain Drain can extend beyond various degrees depending on its nature. Common types of brain extraction include - Organizational brain alignment, spatial extraction, and industrial brain extraction. Geographical abnormalities refer to the definition given above; it is the migration of intelligent and capable people from one place to another.

Organizational brain exit is the movement of intelligent and competent people from one organization to another. As a result of this brain pull, the mother organization is set to lose weight. Organizational brain drain occurs due to better salaries and working conditions in other organizations. The Industrial Brain Drain, on the other hand, refers to the transformation of skilled and empowered people from one industry to another; this is due to the prospects for better employment and better pay in other sectors. Whatever the type of brain discharge, it definitely leads to economic and social losses.

The cost of brain surgery in India is very high. There may be several factors involved in such a situation. First, India is lacking in job creation. The unemployment rate in the country is very high. As a result, brilliant students, after graduating from high school, aim to move abroad to find better jobs and job opportunities.

Moreover, technological advances in India are bad; the world lacks the latest in science fiction. Such a sad situation does not provide a perfect working environment. People often move to more developed lands.

Moving abroad to the first countries in the world not only allows a person to have better job opportunities, but they can also find a better standard of living, a better way of life, and better living conditions. They feel that their talent is well-known and well-received abroad. India cannot provide such stability to its citizens. So off they go.

If the brain drain is left open to occur without borders, India could be in trouble. If all the engineers in the country would go to other countries to get better working conditions, there would be no talent left. Without technology, skilled people, and intelligent people, fields such as law, engineering, medicine, management would be strong forever. They could not move forward.

The only way to prevent brain discharge is better than living standards in the country itself. Employment rate should be reduced - more jobs should be provided. Most positions should be open for employment. All sectors in the country must be modernized; scientific and technological advances should be facilitated. In this way, the most talented people in the country will feel reassured and wanted.
