Are you a new business owner. But you have no idea how to advertise your product and bring traffic to your site? Perfect! In this article, I will give you the 3 most important steps to launching your business. Starting a business from scratch is not easy and these tips are just a guideline on your journey to success. If you follow this strategy correctly and take the time that is needed to produce a quality product, you could be on your way to becoming the next big thing.

The first launch
The first launch comes before the “ actual launch”. When you start a new brand people don’t know you so they are not going to be interested in what you have to give. But your friends and family do know you, and they are willing to support you on your journey to success. Start talking to them about your ideas and vision ask them for advice, ask them what they are expecting from you, or what they would do in your situation. Bring them into the story. And maybe let them help with a fun, creative task that you have to do. That way you make them feel like they are also part of your company. They will be much more supportive of you and talk about your brand to other people even before you have officially launched anything.
Another tip is to give away free stuff right before you’re launching your brand. This could be to family members but you could also give away stuff to strangers on the street. Make sure that whatever you’re giving to people has your companies name on it. That way they can remember you and maybe even look online to see what your brand is about. So for example, if you’re starting a clothing brand you could give away free tote bags with your companies name on it. A tote bag is the perfect object to give away. It’s small cheap and everyone wears it because it’s handy. It’s something that they are going to use and bring outside their house. That way your brand is not only being seen by however you give it to but it will also be visible outside, in the city, in a café. People will unconsciously get familiar with your brand just by looking around them.

The actual launch
So when your friends and family have gotten to know your brand. And have been part of the process they are definitely going to be willing to buy something from you. Whether they are in need of that product or not. When you have a company it’s kind of a child to you. You have been thinking and working in order to grow this idea that you had into a real business. So because you let your family and friends be part of this experience they feel like it is there child too. And they are proud of it, and talk about it, and buy it, and recommend it to other people.
When you first launch your brand. Don’t expect too much you should already be happy if you make one sale the first day. You need to see the bigger picture of that one customer. If the quality of your product, customer service, and price point is good that one customer will remember your brand and will probably return to you, plus they might talk about your brand to other people and so that one customer will bring two new customers, and so on and so on.
For you, as a new business owner, it’s also good to take it easy the first few weeks. Don’t try to get all this traffic in the first few days of your product being sold. You still need to get comfortable with what you’re doing. Whether it’s your first time starting a company or not. You need time to get used to the product that your selling, and the kind of customers that you’re selling it to. Different products have different needs and so do different kinds of customers. When you’re selling a product you normally have a certain demographic that is going to be interested in that product. For example when your selling kids toys, your demographic are kids. This means that your price point, quality, and customer service needs to be aligned with that. So give yourself the time to look at other brands like you and look at what they are doing.
Learn from your own mistakes and apologize to your customer if something went wrong. Maybe the shipping was late or the product was broken when it arrived. Your customer will really appreciate it if you apologize and make up for it. Maybe you can send them a gift card from your store to get 50% off there next purchase. That way you show that you’re sorry for what happened, and you make it more attractive for them to return back to your store.

The expansion
At a certain point, you will be comfortable with what you’re doing and be ready for the next step. This is the expansion of your customers. Now it’s time to focus on the bigger picture. People might have heard from your brand through your friends and family. People might have seen your brand name and logo on the street because you gave out free stuff. People might have looked at your website once or twice but haven’t purchased anything yet, because they’re not sure how trustworthy your brand or site is. Well now is the time to start putting your brand on everything and everywhere you can think of. It might cost you some money but it’s going to be worth it.
Print posters, make stickers, promote yourself on social media: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, Pinterest. Try to get influencers to talk about your brand. If you know someone that has a big Instagram or YouTube following. Ask them to use your products in their videos. You don’t necessarily need to pay them for a 30-sec shoutout but you can send them a product for free and tell them to incorporate it in there videos. That way when people watch there favorite creator drink from a certain water bottle and they see your brand on it. They are going to look for that brand and buy from it because they trust that creator and if they use it and they think it’s good, it probably will be.
After the expansion stage, it’s only a matter of time before you will have a successful business. Keep in mind that this strategy only works if your product is a good quality product at a reasonable price. Don’t expect people to pay hundreds of dollars to an unknown company to then receive something that barely meets their expectations. They might buy it once but they won’t be a returning customer. Always try to put yourself in your customers shoes. Would you buy this? For this price? At this site?
Hopefully, these tips will elevate your marketing game and be the start of your successful career as a business owner.
