Be Entrepreneur and Live Head Raised
How Entrepreneurship Boost Self-confidence

You have a unique value on you. Every person has a great value to deliver to those around him. Look for that value within you. You can either utilize your own value within and convert it to a business opportunity or work as an employee for others and keep your value unutilized. Knowing your value gives you all the confidence you need in life. The first day you start your job as an employee, you are titled a trainee. In some countries, you see nothing wrong with calling a new employee a trainee instead of his name. Hearing this repeatedly charges you daily with a subordinance feeling. You feel lower than others around you. Unlikely, when you start your own business, you could be given titles such as entrepreneur, businessperson, or market gambler. I am sure you have noticed the level of inspiration the last titles ignited in you. Both the new employee as well as the entrepreneur are learning. Both are experiencing something new in life and dealing with a wealth of new knowledge. However, the employee is titled low, and the business owner is titled high. Is this something that calls you to start your own business? Starting your own business builds your confidence, while being employed kills it or at least ignores it. Always remember that confidence is your tool to make a change in life and to enjoy life. According to Kate Harrison in her article published in Forbes, Mar 26, 2019 edition, Misha Kaura says: "The best tip I have for being confident professionally is knowing your own worth."
It is beyond any doubt that employees are less confident than self-employed and entrepreneurs. This is happening as a result of the level of control. If you run your own business, you have a high level of control and accountability, which is much lower when you are employed. There is no surprise. Employment comes with a tag price of a punch of restrictions, unlike the situation when you run your own business. This might be related to the fact that the regulations at a job are there to suit a high number of individuals, including all employees and their management. However, when you own your business, you set the regulations that suit you personally and maximize your benefits. It is totally different from following a regulation that has been put in to fix others, but you have to go by them. Sophia Anderson says: "The diversification available to those that chase their dreams with new inventions and madcap ideas can often lead to self-satisfaction and an abundance in confidence that will help across all areas of life".
There is another rationalization of higher self-confidence among entrepreneurs when compared to employees. Yatin Khulbe explained the relationship between employees' mindset and the loss of confidence when he said: "Failure is inevitable. If you are not ready to embrace Failure, you won't be able to come up with fresh ideas. Workers with an 'Employees mindset' lose their confidence in struggling periods. They look at Failure as a dead end. Entrepreneurs see opportunity in every Failure. After being knocked down, they don't lose their enthusiasm. They recover and improve with every fall. "– Business Mind Today (2019). When you manage your business, it is either you succeed, or you fail. In both cases, you will learn something new, and that's one of the most motivating features of owning a business. This is exactly what confidence is about. You can make decisions by running your own business, trying different ideas, and fine-tuning strategies to serve your business better. All of these are generally not accessible to employees. Dennis Christo, Owner of Karambit.com, says: "This reminds me that even though I don't always know what I am doing, I must be confident in my intelligence and abilities to figure it out. Most people are too scared to even try, which separates entrepreneurs from everyone else."- in Matt Pompa's article titled 30 Inspirational Entrepreneurs Quotes to Motivate Them for Greatness, published in BigCommerce.
A recent survey was conducted by LinkedIn and covered a total of 10,221 LinkedIn members. The survey started on May 18 to June 14 of the year 2020. It shows that the Workforce Confidence Index (WCI) for Freelancers reaches 41% compared to the U.S. overall average confidence of 31%. Also, the Association of Independent Professionals and Self-Employed (IPSE) conducted another survey among freelancers to explore the subjective psychological dimensions of freelancing and how this might contribute to the sector's growth. The survey shows that freelancer is 70% satisfied with their work. These are examples of many other surveys conducted to probe the confidence levels among employees and business owners. Employees' self-confidence is consistently lower. According to to note no. 107 of Human Capital, "young people who are self-employed are more confident in their professional skills and show more initiative than the average young person". According to the fifth European Working Conditions Survey, in the 50–59 age group, the self-employed are more confident than employees that they can continue until 60. So, join the club and start a business that represents you personally and your values and speaks louder about you.
Working on your business will boost your self-confidence. You feel real freedom. You feel empowered. You can put whatever ideas are in your mind into reality. You have the leverage to make your own dreams. On the contrary, employees lack confidence in their own power and abilities. Employees simply depend on their power of knowledge of company procedures and regulations. They are more programmed human beings. Employees could not go a bit outside the frame of work drawn for them by the business owner. Not only this, but most employees continue performing work they don't believe in. According to a survey conducted by Gallup, Just 23% of U.S. employees strongly agree that they can apply their organization's values to their work every day, according to Gallup, and only 27% strongly agree that they "believe in" their organization's values. Start your own business now and enjoy your life. Live confident. Live head raised.
