A Small LED Retailer from Austria is now a Global Seller
Here is a story of Thomas who started his business by selling LED lights offline. But today, his business has reached the global level.

13 years ago, a small businessman from Austria named Thomas decided to take his offline LED store online. This small decision changed everything for him, and presently his sales and fame have increased many folds. But this story is neither an overnight success nor the journey Thomas took was a cakewalk.
The Story Starts…
Thomas’s story started in 2008. It was the year of another good sale, and Thomas was thinking of a new way to reach more people. While researching ways on how to expand the online business, he came across the idea of taking his offline business online. Soon, he created an online eCommerce website and gave it a name, Isolicht.
This website contains the widest range of LED-based lights that you can think of. Since it was also the period when eCommerce and the Internet were still in the inception stage, it brought both advantages and disadvantages to Thomas.
The Disadvantage
You know how easy it is to open an eCommerce website these days with all the advancements in the tech world. But it wasn’t so in 2008. So, Thomas had to put a lot of effort into making his online business stand and flourish.
The Advantage
Today, I agree that creating an eCommerce website is easy. However, this industry has become quite competitive for new sellers than it was over a decade ago. So, Thomas had an advantage here, and he utilized it quite well for his business.
Soon, Thomas became a recognized retailer. His website became a common name for selling cost-effective and electricity-saving LED-based lights. Everything worked smoothly for a decade, and it looked like a happy ending!
But something happened…
One day Thomas realized that he has got quite an impressive number of regular customers for his website. However, the overall growth rate is constant for the last few years. And, the analytics made him worried about his store. He did some digging and talked to fellow sellers and reached a conclusion that it’s time to change!
Thomas decided to move his omnichannel business model to a multichannel model. In simple words, he wanted to expand his business and target a global audience instead of just focusing on the local ones.
So, in August 2019, Thomas did even more research and prepared a comparison of Omnichannel vs. multichannel business models. But Thomas had some big decisions to make before moving to a multichannel business model. For example, which marketplaces are best for selling LED products.
After some more research, Thomas finally shortlisted Amazon and eBay marketplace.
More challenges…
After picking the marketplaces, Thomas had to choose the eCommerce service provider for multichannel marketplace Integration. That’s how he found CedCommerce.

Coming back to our story:
Thomas contacted CedCommerce and discussed his business needs with the Business Analyst Manager and other experts. They worked together with Thomas for about two weeks. And, he finally received his fully functional Amazon and eBay seller panel on 12 September the same year.
The Result…
The hardest part of doing something new is the waiting period. Because you never know how much it will take to show the results. And, the same was with Thomas and CedCommerce team who had given their heart and soul to the project.
After a week, a surge was noticed in the number of orders received. It was a time of relief, excitement, and celebration. These initial results were the positive signs that everyone was looking for.
The following month, October proved to be the best time for Thomas. His business touched a new milestone because of all the eCommerce events and sales on Amazon and eBay.
The stats of October month stated a 300% boost in the number of orders received. The growth was so massive that it wiped out inventory on the marketplaces.
Thomas added more inventories to his stores and decided to expand his business even further!! Presently, Isolicht is one of the trusted names for online LED retailers in Europe, offering a wide range of 2500 products.
