A female designer moves the needle in the quest to unite function and aesthetics for a cinematic power brand
How an up-and-coming female designer advocated for intuitive, tech-driven design

When Eve Onicha Wanitchakorn was a child growing up in Bangkok, her father encouraged her passion for art with coloring books. Her attention soon shifted from the static page to animation, as Bangkok’s propensity for lights, color, and glittering pixelation stoked her imagination. “There is a strong animation culture in Thailand. Many of us dream of working for famous animation studios because of its constant presence in our everyday life,” she explains.
Her relationship with animation took on a more official status as an undergrad at Assumption University in Thailand. Following graduation, she cut her teeth as an intern at a local animation studio before making the decision to enroll in a master’s program in Graphic Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Arriving in the Bay Area at the height of the tech boom, Eve’s accomplished skillset landed her an internship at the internationally renowned marketing agency, Moving Brands, mere weeks after graduation.
Since signing on with Moving Brands as a visual and motion designer in 2018, Eve’s résumé has expanded to include projects with biotech and tech movers and shakers, including Anivive Lifesciences, Play Suisse SRG SSR, 20 Minuten, Sage AI Labs, and more. Being a female in tech design, she’s resisted pigeonholing herself and has adopted a skillset more diverse than most. Today, she not only specializes in digital design, but maintains her expertise in motion animation as well. The duality has allowed her to strategically pivot at Moving Brands, earning her an indispensable role within the organization.
Evercast: Designing a Cinematic Icon

A cinephile since childhood, Eve was elated to assume one of her most recent projects at Moving Brands: the rebrand of Evercast, the TV and film industry’s leading collaborative software platform. Combining video conferencing, HD live-streaming, and full-spectrum audio in a single web-based platform, Evercast is trusted by Hollywood heavyweights like Netflix, Warner Bros, and HBO, and was a recipient of the 2020 Engineering Emmy award.
Working in tandem with a team of creative directors, design directors, and 3D animators, Eve and team worked to overhaul the brand’s identity, logo, and website. They began by conceptualizing the Evercast symbol as something bold and iconic; cutting-edge yet timeless. They wanted to promote an underlying sense of forward movement, and they thought the ability to see ‘E’ and a ‘C’ at the same time would be powerful.
As she conceptualized, Eve envisioned the way that the Evercast branding could evolve and bridge the gap between its function and aesthetics. To champion the brand’s connection to the cinema, Eve’s team ultimately settled on the concept of “rooms” for the logo and site. “Evercast is a platform that’s designed to host a variety of cinematic ideas prior to them becoming reality—almost like a waiting room,” she explains. “We wanted to play off the concept of a room and create a logo that envelops you, almost like walls. Using form and ambient light to achieve the feeling of that ‘room,’ we ultimately created something that feels like a part of a cinematic world.”
To complement the bold simplicity of the design, Eve single-handedly developed a style guide for the Evercast team and assisted in the development of motion graphics to support the brand’s website. Post-rebrand, Evercast possesses an identity that feels technologically adroit, but also pays homage to the grandeur of old school cinema. It showcases the power and connection and innovation at every level.
Post-Production Awards
Work on the Evercast rebrand wrapped in late 2020. In May 2021, the Evercast platform won a Webby Awards for Creative Production in the category of Apps and Software. For Eve, the accolade underscores her personal advocacy for design that is graceful, nimble and above all; intuitive. As she moves into another year with Moving Brands, Eve is looking to the future and extending efforts to champion technological design that is built by a diverse and inclusive team like the one she worked with at Moving Brands and Evercast. “As I continue my design journey, I hope to become a role model for designers of all nationalities, genders, and races. Ultimately, I hope to create work that inspires people to rethink their perspectives, both inside and out.”
