Cliff Walk - Rhode Island

56 Hours? Yes, just 2 days and a couple of hours in Rhode Island and I am still in awe. How do you introduce a location that needs no introduction? I guess we will never know. First and Foremost, the luxury limo I booked online for my airport pickup and hotel drop-off was perfect—an ideal chauffeured driven limo with the best in-drive experience I have ever had around the world. These chauffeured transportation are getting better every day.

Ahhh... Rhode Island! The beauty has always been incomparable. As one of my favorites, a mainstay among thousands for decades, The Vanderbilt was always my choice. What more could I praise of it besides talking about its sophisticated ambiance, the refined luxury blended perfectly into relaxation, not to miss the views. A truly idyllic destination to return to year after year.

The Vanderbilt - Newport, Rhode Island

The Tennis Retreat

Tucked away in the heart of Newport, the International Tennis Hall of Fame was the highlight of my visit. My love for tennis has been transcendent. From experiencing the Hall of Famers to the VR visit of Arthur Ashe, the visit was nothing short of a fanboy moment. From playing on the iconic grass courts that have hosted the greatest champions in the history of tennis, it was a dream come true. The shingle style architecture, and the grounds induced elegance like the Gilded Age.

Just after the tennis retreat, it was time for the corporate meeting I was here for and once again Moe's chauffeured transportation never disappointed. Perfect for the occasion, the aura it helped me build, was spectacular.

A Fine Dining End to the Day

Aurelia, the peak of fine dining in Rhode Island was the perfect suggestion by a colleague. The raw beauty of the Narragansett Bay it encapsulated was in itself an exquisite experience. The seascape was the perfect surroundings the seafood dishes were nothing short of excellent imagination. Should you wish to visit, Aurelia is the perfect spot for a culinary adventure of a lifetime. The white plates added a lot to the mix. *winks*

Back to The Vanderbilt

A night of a lifetime, a perfect relaxed night of sleep and comfort was all I needed. The Vanderbilt didn't disappoint at all. I woke up feeling refreshed and well-rested, something I always appreciate. Traveling is my favorite thing to do, but being rested before I can explore places is more important.

Await My Arrival: Cliff Walk

A staple of Italian food, Giusto was worth a visit. The outdoor setting would be enticing for the leisurely lunches and evening soirées. Oh Oh. Let's come back to the main point, the food. I loved the oysters no fancy 'profoundly exquisite, exceptionally opulent', just that I loved it.

Cliff Walk - Rhode Island

The walk of a lifetime, the walk of cliffs, the walk of seagulls and coastal views. What would you call it? I'd rather call it "A Walk of Discovery". It was akin to traversing the corridors of eternity and felt like a verse from a poem of existence. That's too poetic, I get it sorry. But it still etched indelible memories upon the canvas of my soul.

The clean, crisp air and the tranquil ambiance of the Cliff walk, the seagulls perched on the rails. I walked in its entirety, the 3.5 miles. It was worth more than any other activity I would've planned. Some portions were easy to traverse, others not so much.

The Walk.

Reconnecting with nature, and rejuvenating our spirits is something this walk offered. Not merely an act of exercise it was way more than that. I had not strolled on this walk ever before, but similar ones I had frequented innumerable times. The surroundings were not mundane at all, rather enticing. I started the walk from the western end of Easton's, a great start I suppose. What seemed to be an easy stroll turned into a rather challenging scramble from rock to rock.

The warm golden glow cast over the rocks, the coastal breeze slightly chilled carried the salty, pungent smell of the sea. The walk was mostly vibrant with small poison ivy along the path. Be it the scent that invigorated my senses or the views a sense of gratitude was always there. I loved the scenes of surfers launching their boards from the Belmont beach near Marine Avenue.

Candidly, I'd say it did make me want to jump into the breakers with a surfing board and enjoy as much as I could. But sadly, it wasn't on the checklist. Maybe next time?Orr maybe again at the Arugam Bay in Sri Lanka. I walked amongst the natural splendor till Bailey's Beach or as the locals like to call it Reject's Beach.

A walk of a lifetime indeed, and the coastal views are unlike anywhere else.

The Vanderbilt Again.

Highlighting the intricate patterns of nature, in my notebook. I went back to the hotel. The dining room at The Vanderbilt was my choice for food tonight. Ordered the smoked salmon with duck fat fried potatoes, it was a symphony of flavors. I'd recommend it to anyone dining at the place. Ending the day with a sticky toffee pudding, what more could I say about it than "it paints a perfect harmony of flavors on my palate"?

A great sleep indeed followed by a morning breakfast, loved the buttermilk pancakes. The chauffeur drove me to the airport and Rhode Island is now one of my favorite travel experiences. Perfectly orchestrated for an immensely great experience. From the personalized chauffeur experience, warm welcome at the check-in, cozy night sleeps, perfectly curated itinerary, and whatnot.

I would need another visit.
