4 Easy Ways to Increase Organic Traffic to Your Website

Getting seen on the internet is easy with these tips!

Nearly every company has a website and a social media presence, so it can sometimes feel impossible to get your information seen on the internet. Google is saturated with ads for competitors, and you can spend what seems like forever going down the rabbit hole of trying to rank above others in organic listings. If you are struggling with getting your content above the fold, here are 4 things you can do now to increase the organic traffic to your website.

Optimize Your Content Correctly

In order to get the most relevant leads to your website, it is essential that you optimize your content for the appropriate buyer, or persona. A persona is a prototype of your target customer, and creating personas helps guide you in writing content that will appeal to the right market. For example, if you sell an item that you want to market to a younger demographic, then your buyer persona, and as a result, your content, should reflect this. Give your persona a name and write up an actual profile that details exactly who he or she is. It is important to write something that will interest and evoke an emotional response in your target customer, or your website won't be as successful.

Create Inbound Links

An inbound link is a link to your website from elsewhere on the internet. It is important to focus on link building as part of your content marketing strategy, because the more links on the internet that point to your site, the better your chances are of getting good, relevant traffic. Link building creates a sense of legitimacy and trust among potential buyers, because if they see you referenced elsewhere on the internet, it gives the impression that you must be worth researching. Further, the more links that point to your site, the more legitimate Google thinks you are, so inbound links can help your Google rankings as well.

Use Long-Tail Keywords

When creating content, keyword research is essential. However, while using popular and most-searched-for keywords is a good starting point, also ensure that you are not only using the most popular keywords, or else you will never stand out. Use keywords that are more specific to your product or service, and have longer word counts. For example, if you are selling an item such as running shoes, say something like "buy lightweight running shoes" instead of just saying "running shoes." Typically, phrases with more than 3 or 4 words are considered long-tail keywords, though there isn't an official cutoff. By using more specific terms, users will be much more likely to find you and click through to your site.

Get Blogging

No matter what type of product you sell, every website needs a blog. Publishing frequent blog posts is one of the easiest ways to draw people into your website. Blogs are very easy for web crawlers to scan, so a keyword-filled blog post is very likely to end up in Google search results. While advertising for yourself in your blog posts is a great way to bring business to your site, "thought leadership" posts are just as important to your internet presence. If you can write strong, informational blogs about your product or business sector, people who are just looking for general information are more likely to stumble upon your post and view you as an expert in the field, and hopefully delve deeper into your site. Be sure to include a strong call to action (CTA) at the end of each blog post, such as "Download Now," to invite readers to view more of your offerings. Without a strong CTA, your blog will not be as effective.

Getting seen on the internet can feel like a never-ending struggle. However, if you optimize your content with great keywords and ensure that you are being linked to from other websites, you will see an increase in your inbound traffic in no time.
