3 Reasons Why I Love the New 'Like' Feature

Are puns as titles still in?

Vocal has been up to bat consistently with the new updates rolling in. And they may have just hit a home run (okay a second home run - we're living for subscriptions, and *cough* *cough* paid subscriptions coming soon).

Sometimes a platform (like, Instagram for example) is just updatehappy; on a spree for the next new thing even if it's not at all what the users want.

However, bring in Vocal, with slow but articulated upgrades on the side of the creator and consumer.

The 'like' feature may sound mundane, we've seen it everywhere else. But, hear me out, I think it's going to seriously up the game, and the clarity of the creator. Let me explain.

1. Instantly see what your readers are into.

Us creatives love our analytics. Sounds backwards but trust - we love to see the numbers climb for a new article we just posted, we live for clarity on what the heck to write, we jump for joy when we hit the nail on the head and cash out on a piece we poured ourself into.

Don't know what to write about tomorrow? Well, your new and improved stats page is a wealth of information now. Thank you, Vocal.

Quickly see what posts were average, which were top performers, and what ones hit the fan.

2. Can't remember what that amazing story you read last week was called? Find it with EASE now in 'stories you've liked'.

A feature that reminds me of how I find most of my beloved tiktok videos: the likes page. Coming in clutch, once again. What more is there to say, really?

Although, if I had to say a bit more.. I may suggest maybe they are organized by category of niche, or month saved perhaps. But hey, maybe Vocal needs a water break before they're back up to bat.

3. We love a chronological feed. (Did you hear that Instagram?)

Mmmm, in order? Of when it was published? What is this unruly concept? Vocal comes in with a touch of sass, saying:

That’s right—we believe in the chronological feed. No algorithms serving you content that they think you might want to see, and no updates from creators you follow that never make their way to your timeline.

This is super helpful Justin, if I do say so. I love to scroll through posts and read the newest ones from my favourite writers, but if I can't find it or the algorithm thinks I don't want to see it I get so annoyed.

None of that here, thankfully, with a simple in-order feed of the stories you're sure to love - or should I say 'like' (I'm sorry)

... Okay done with the puns now.

Be Sure to Like ;) and Subscribe. Thank You!
