Things you may not know about Rishi Sunak
A brief introduction to the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Rishi Sunak appears to face a difficult task as the new Prime Minister of the UK. Here are some facts about the former Chancellor that you might not know.
Our complex facts confirm that the former Chancellor previously had other career goals.
1.He wanted to be a Jedi knight when he was growing up
In 2016, he revealed to students at a North Allerton elementary school that his dream career as a child was to become a Jedi knight. Whether he ever entered "Jedi" in the census just in case is unknown, but it is known that he attended to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with Sajid Javid, his former Treasury department boss. His favorite Star Wars movie is The Empire Strikes Back, but he has also been known to glorify the cinematography of Revenge of the Sith's final half-hour, which features Anakin going insane and starting to slash people with his light sabre all over the place.
2. His pro-Brexit views date back a long time.
Sunak was already a devoted Conservative in 1997, thus his shock at Tony Blair's election as prime minister was understandable. In his editorial, he criticized the fact that Blair "revels in the name of a patriot, yet has plans for the potential dissolution of the United Kingdom and membership in an ultimate European Super state. Concurringly pro-European rhetoric is already coming from the New Labour party, and Brussels is receiving ardent pro-Europeans.
3. His football hero was Matt Le Tissier.
Sunak's favorite player growing up was Southampton's Matt Le Tissier, who was once celebrated for his magical free kicks but is now more well-known for his slightly off-the-wall opinions on Twitter. Sunak's team, Southampton, was where Le Tissier spent his whole professional career. One of the former chancellor's favorite belongings, he once told the BBC, is an 18th birthday card that the entire Southampton team signed, with Le Tissier's autograph in the center.
4. To watch Euro 96, he snuck a TV into the classroom.
Many articles have been written about Sunak's time in college at the fee- Winchester college. His parents made a significant financial sacrifice to send him there, and he has talked about how embarrassing it was to have to wear a used uniform. But from all accounts, he was a model student who eventually became head boy. The only instance that anyone can recall of him getting into trouble at school is when he allegedly brought a portable TV into the building so he wouldn't miss any of the Euro 96 matches.
5. He occasionally listens to Britney Spears while working out
Sunak has stated that although it wasn't his direct choice, his early morning workout routine consists of either a treadmill, Peloton, or a gym class. He claims to detest exercising outside. On a podcast in 2021, he admitted that Cody Rigsby's Peloton bike workout videos were his favorites. Asking the class to imagine themselves as Britney Spears acting out the scene in the Toxic video where she is moving through lasers while wearing a red wig is one of Rigsby's signature techniques. Rigsby's obsession with Spears, according to Sunak, is "no bad thing in trying to get you motivated."
6. He has to exercise since he eats muffins all the time.
In 2015, when running for his first elected office as an MP, Sunak admitted to a local journalist that he was a creature of habit and required a double chocolate muffin every morning in addition to two biscuits and a cup of tea every afternoon. Additionally, he once claimed that he made an effort to eat a pork and apple pie every Friday, preferably from Taylors Pie Shop in his Richmond area.
7. He previously endured taunts for wearing the incorrect color wellies.
Due to the rural nature of the Richmond area, where Sunak had just begun to campaign, wellington boots were a necessity. Unfortunately, he went with blue, which reportedly quickly distinguishes you as a "townie"; as everyone in farming is aware, you wear green wellies outside in the country.
8. There's a "joke" that follows him around regarding his "tan."
Sunak succeeded William Hague as the MP, and he once remembered that when he was first being introduced as a prospective replacement while campaigning in a rural seat, a farmer said: "Ah yes Haguey! Good guy. I enjoy him. But a little pale. This one has a lovely tan.
The tale is occasionally repeated in following years as if it were something Sunak said of himself: "I'm like William Hague. But I've got a nicer tan," he said, in an apparent attempt to minimize his prejudice. It wasn't ignoring the elephant in the room, he said to a reporter. There weren't a ton of individuals in Richmond who were like me. That cannot be hidden; it is what it is. We can all laugh about it and move on.
Sunak even made light of the fact that he and his wife effectively served as the district's sole immigrant representatives at one point. However, he has occasionally spoken about the racist abuse he has endured throughout his life. In 2019, he described one specific incident to the BBC, saying, "I was just out with my younger siblings, we were out at a fast food restaurant and there were people sitting nearby, it was the first time I'd experienced it, just saying some very unpleasant things. the letter P. Also, it hurt. It remains vivid in my mind. In this work, you can be insulted in a variety of ways, but that hurts in a way that is difficult to articulate.
9. He has seven fillings as a result of drinking Coca-Cola frequently.
In a 2019 podcast called "25 minutes and 4 seconds of cringe featuring Rishi Sunak," which was produced with two schoolboys named George, Sunak disclosed he has seven fillings as a result of drinking too much Coca-Cola when he was younger. He claims to collect Coca-Cola memorabilia, but is currently only permitted to consume it once a week. At one point in the podcast, he playfully clarified that he meant the carbonated beverage when he declared, "I'm a total Coke addict." He says he loves the Coca-Cola sold in Mexico since it is the only country where it is still manufactured with cane sugar rather than fructose syrup. He refuses Diet Coke and Coke Zero.
10. He really was not interested in being prime minister or is it?
He shrugged off rumor's that he was vying for the top position in 2020. "God, no. Certainly not, given the difficulties the prime minister faces, he said. Johnson and he have a close personal bond that permeates the teams, where there is a tremendous degree of trust, he said as he praised their relationship.
