The Art Of Kindness Podcast Interviews Former Disney Child Star

Season Five debuts.

By Frank RacioppiPublished 3 months ago 3 min read

I first reviewed The Art of Kindness (AOK) in May 2023. In that review, I recommended the show and called it “a kind of soul-cleansing experience.”

Since then, the host, Robert Peterpaul, has gotten married, interviewed the legendary Carol Burnett on the show’s 100th episode last November, celebrated World Kindness Day again, and just started his fourth season in early November.

The Art of Kindness (AOK) bills itself as “A positively star-studded podcast that converses with and celebrates artists from all areas of the entertainment industry (Film, TV, Broadway, etc.) who use their platform to make the world a better place. Join The AOK as we sprinkle positivity around like confetti and get to the bottom of what kindness really means through compassionate conversations.”

In every episode, host Robert Peterpaul elicits tales from Broadway personalities and celebrities about how they incorporate kindness into their world. Peterpaul always asks each guest, “What does kindness mean to you?” He also asks guests how they react to people praising them.

Robert Peterpaul is an award-winning actor, writer, and celebrity interviewer with a passion for storytelling and spreading kindness.

Robert has started season five with a strong episode.

Bestselling author and former Disney star Alyson Stoner joined Robert on The Art of Kindness for his season five opener to redefine kindness in a broken system. The mental health advocate unpacks their transformative new memoir, Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything, and breaks down how kindness can heal the world.

Most importantly, Robert Peterpaul is intent on giving back. It's not just rhetoric for the podcast.

He and his family formed the nonprofit THE THOMAS PETERPAUL FOUNDATION in honor of his late brother Thomas, who passed away from cancer. TPF has helped countless pediatric cancer patients and their families since its inception. Peterpaul notably teamed up with Novartis and spoke before Congress at the US Capitol on behalf of TPF to get the CAR T Cell Therapy approved (read more in the NY Times). In addition, he works for the nonprofit Women In Entertainment, which assists women both working in and aspiring to work in the entertainment industry.

This kindness podcast episode covers:

Why kind acts alone won’t cut it (and what will). What it really takes to unlearn perfectionism and embrace your authentic self. How writing can be an act of self-care. Rob’s grandma and much more. Tune in for an empowering pick me up!

ALYSON STONER is a multidisciplinary entertainer, author, and founder/CEO of Movement Genius, a mental health company offering therapist-led content to improve well-being. Known for their award-winning Dear Hollywood podcast, which advocates for child protection in media, Stoner has also contributed to initiatives with the UN, WHO, and leading universities. A former child star seen in Camp Rock, Step Up, Phineas & Ferb, and Missy Elliott’s iconic videos, they now focus on impact-driven projects like Artist Wellbeing Essentials.

I love the way Robert introduces every episode with, “Hello beautiful people, compassionate conversations using their voice to spread joy.” That intro alone seems to light up a listener's day.

This season, Robert is also introducing his grandma to his listeners, and in the season opener, Grandma did ask a question of Alyson Stoner. Listen to find out more.

Robert says: “I want to thank Kindness is Free (KIF) for being this season’s Riverside sponsor. KIF empowers the next generation of youth by instilling the values of respect, equality, and compassion for others.”

I highly recommend The Art of Kindness. When news outlets like Fox News spew hate and divisiveness, The Art of Kindness is a welcome change, with its focus on kindness, compassion, and helping others. What a refreshing message.
