To learn more, we are Talking With Chase Mangum:
How would you describe ‘The Fun Show’?
Chase Mangum: "The Fun Show," an energetic new series for kids starring me my dad Jonathan Mangum Also, joining in on the fun, is my brother Austin, my mom and even my dog, Clarissa! Come laugh along with our family as we improvise games, make music, and PRODUCE THIS SHOW, TOGETHER! We hope that watching us will inspire YOUR family with fresh ideas and playful ways to connect with your family.
What’s it like starring in the show with your real-life family?
Chase Mangum:It’s so much fun. It’s like being at home but now we have cameras. We have snacks, play music between takes and take the dog for walks.

Why did you want to host this show?
Chase Mangum: This show required me to use my improv skills which I don’t get to use very often. My dad is an amazing improvisor, so I was able to learn so much from him. And I had a blast working with my mom and brother too.
You also appear as yourself in the reality series ‘Wayne Brady: The Family Remix’; tell us about that experience.
Chase Mangum: I’ve been friends with Maile Brady since I was born. Our dads are best friends, and we’ve all have spent lots of years together. She is so talented, fun and I just love writing songs with her.
How did this opportunity come about?
Chase Mangum: My dad Jonathan Mangum and Wayne Brady have been friends since their late teens and have been working together ever since. It’s really cool that Maile and I are the same age as my dad and Wayne were when they met.

What can you share about your recent acting role on ‘Unstable’?
Chase Mangum: I played the role of Josh the student who was trying to get into the school ELLIS U. I was interviewed by the characters portrayed by Rob Lowe and Fred Armisen.
How was it to work with Rob Lowe and Fred Armisen?
Chase Mangum: It was an absolute insane. I was such a crazy experience, and my heart stopped when the director asked if I would be down to do improv with Rob and Fred. They were both the nicest people and they were part of the reason that I became an actor.
You’re also a musician and released a new music video with your band Whim. What can you share about that?
Chase Mangum: It was a really fun shoot. We ended up doing it all in one day on location at Griffith Park. Always fun working with my best friend since kindergarten our director Antonio Marroquin.

How did Whim come together?
Chase Mangum: We formed Whim in 2022. My brother Austin and I were already in a band but when we met Erik Brauer we decided to start a new project with him. Then our amazing drummer Tommy Goldstien joined. We’ve been performing in clubs all over L.A. and recording music ever since.
In general, what inspires you the most creatively?
Chase Mangum: As Steve Vai say, “Even if you have the littlest amount of motivation, start creating right away. It will always grow and turn into something spectacular.” Any time I have any idea no matter what time it is, I get to work.
Finally, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
