Leaving his mark on the map.

The other day I had the pleasure of interviewing Samuel Esteva-Canas who is an extremely unique, creative, innovative and talented business marketer for a Latino TV network Entravision. I was blown away from his interview. I only met him once when he came to my job to drop materials off, but his unique positive energy drew me to him. I highly recommend people start paying attention to his future endeavours.

As most people know I have my own talk show CTS: Cheryl's Talk Show on Spotify, and recently the platform changed. On my new adventure to learning how to create, and edit on this platform has been challenging. It was like ripping a band aid off a wound. I have been putting off doing shows, because I was so terrified of the new platform. However, Samuel was my first interview on Riverside, and he helped me overcome my fear.

I am glad I had the chance to speak with him on this show, because I learned so much from him. Esteva-Canas, Samuel says, "Sometimes the best ideas come when you let go of being perfect, and just let the creativity flow." Wow!!! How powerful is that? I can learn from him how to formulate my thoughts into words. Amazing.

Another powerful statement from Samuel as he describes what it is like to work for Entravision, "It is like an intersection between traditon and innovation. (2024 September 10th). " I honestly can say he knows how to put his words to how he feels. Also, one can feel the strong relations he builds, while working with the Latino community. He evens mentions that his work is not just a job, but it is a way to tell other stories that he feels deeply connected to.

When I asked Samuel to describe how he enriches the community he works in this was his response, "We serve as a bridge of cultures and we help brand businesses to see them reach and buy brand in the Hispanic community whether it is creating or compelling a TV spot, or launching an innovative digial campaign. We are constantly evolving and adapting." Also, he mentions that his company becomes part of shaping how the world interacts and understands a diverse and growing audience.

When I asked him why it is so important to advance and make these connections with the Latino community? His response was, "It's so important to advance in making this connection in the Latino community, because the Latino population is one of the fastest growing demographics in the world, and by understanding and connecting with this community you can tap into an incredibly dynamic and influential audience. Next, it is not just limited to econmic contribution, but also cultural, and social even in the political sphere. Additionally, by building these connections we can create more meaningful engagement(2024)." Wow I should take wording, and writing from Samuel who is extremely passionate about his work, and vision. One can tell he really cares about his work, and the community he serves in.

Samuel Esteva-Canas is from Venezuela, and now in US. He jokes about how when he lived in Venezuela he was just Samuel, but here he is Samuel the Latino. Over here you are white, black, hispanic, Jewish, or Muslim. He even mentions, when filling out an application for a job he questions if he should put what race he is. Because will it affect the outcome of the decision. I agree with this. I have often thought that same thing. If I put I am white, and not hispanic will affect the outcome.

He mentions how intersting the diversity here is. Everywhere you go it is its own community. An example, people from Cape Cod have their own individual ways of doing things, and culture. Here we have our own way, and culture. This is what thrives him. Another staement he made, "Sometimes you feel more happy when you are surrounded by people who understand you, and understand where you come from. Also, finding your community that you reasonate with then build strong ties within that community(2024)."

Esteva-Canas, Samuel, " At Entravision the Univision channel, I use creativity and analytics to help brands sparkle, and reasonate with audiences (2024)." I found this to be such a powerful statement.

During the interview with Samuel I have learned how detailed he is when speaking about his work. I also learned how efficient, competent, professional, and skilled he is. As I mentioned above Samuel will go places, if not even start his own business. I believe he is the face of Entravision, while working in a such a great diverse Latino community. How many people do you know that are so passionate about their trade that they would make sacrafices while listening to others stories and make it work for them? He is a true person inside and out. What is also interesting is how he articulates, and formulates words, while putting purpose to them.
