A film treatment is a document that outlines the basic story, characters, and themes of a proposed film. It is typically used as a preliminary step in the filmmaking process, and serves as a way to pitch a movie idea to potential investors, producers, or studios.

A film treatment is usually between 5-30 pages long and contains a detailed summary of the plot, including key scenes and dialogue. It may also include descriptions of the characters, their motivations, and relationships with one another. In addition, a treatment may describe the setting and atmosphere of the film, and give an overview of the tone or style that the filmmakers are aiming for.

A treatment is different from a screenplay in that it is less detailed and is often written before the screenplay. While a screenplay includes specific dialogue, action, and camera directions, a treatment is more of a general overview of the story. It is often used to help determine if a story idea is worth further development, and to help secure funding or support for a project.

Here is the digest of the film treatment I submitted to Ryan Gosling’s agency and manager, Brian Lourd.

Once upon a time, there was a man named Jack who lived in the United States. He had grown up there, surrounded by American culture and his heritage, and had never imagined leaving the country. However, fate had other plans in store for him.

One day, Jack met a woman named Sofia online. They started chatting and soon fell in love. However, there was a catch - Sofia lived in Argentina. Jack knew that if he wanted to be with her, he would have to leave behind everything he knew and start a new life in a foreign land.

Despite his reservations, Jack decided to take the leap of faith and move to Argentina to be with Sofia. He left behind his family, his friends, and everything he had ever known. It was a difficult decision, but he knew that he wanted to be with the woman he loved.

When Jack arrived in Argentina, he was overwhelmed by the differences between his home country and this new one. The language, the food, and the culture were all so different. At times, he felt lost and alone, but Sofia was always there to support him and help him adjust.

As time went on, Jack slowly began to adapt to his new surroundings and started to make friends. He even started to appreciate the differences between his old life and his new one.

However, there were still moments when he felt homesick. He missed his family and the familiar comforts of home. But whenever he felt down, he would remind himself of why he had come to Argentina in the first place - for love.

Years went by, and Jack and Sofia built a life together in Argentina, and Jack began to feel like he had found a new home. He still missed his old life sometimes, but he knew that he had made the right decision in leaving it behind to be with the woman he loved.

In the end, Jack realized that leaving his country, his culture, and his heritage had been worth it. He had gained a new family, a new culture, and a new perspective on life.

He had found love in a foreign land, and that was all that mattered.
