History And Factoids About Today Podcast

Fast-paced, daily fun

By Frank RacioppiPublished about a month ago 3 min read

History and Factoids About Today is a daily podcast about all the interesting and historical events of that day, birthdays, national days, fun facts, and trivia. Producing a podcast every day is the Mount Everest of podcasting. A terrific show like Arielle & Ned’s Daily Tips… also accomplishes that Herculean task, yet episodes are about two minutes in length. On History and Factoids About Today, 12 minutes seems to be the average length. Incredible.

Just to up the WOW factor, the host of the History and Factoids About Today podcast does a weekly podcast called Sports History Today.

The creator/host of all this podcasting energy is Jeff Stampka. Jeff’s company, Coool Media (Yes, there’s an extra o) produces Sports History Today and an intriguing podcast called The Running Wine Mom. Clearly, Jeff is an enterprising and entrepreneurial indie podcaster.

Jeff explains: “History and Factoids About Today is about what happened on that day in history, whose birthday it is, what the national days are, just fun. We have decided to use it to promote other podcasters, writers, entertainers, small businesses, foundations, non-profits, and basically anyone who could use a little word of mouth.”

It’s admirable that one of Jeff’s podcasts is a vehicle for others to promote their enterprise.

The show itself is upbeat, fast-paced, and full of interesting information. Jeff Stampka, who usually has a guest co-host, has a machine-gun style delivery, full of enthusiasm and fun facts. This is not the calm, professorial pacing of an NPR show! Jeff hits the air waves running, and never slows down. It’s invigorating.

For example, did you know that November 25th is National Play With Dad Day? I didn’t. I wonder if there is a National Pull Dad’s Finger Day?

Here’s a typical episode topic guide — November 22, 2025 — National Espresso Day, entertainment from 1955, prescribing beer for medicinal purposes now illegal, WW2 food rationing ended, Jukebox debuts. Then there’s today’s birthdays — Franklin Pierce, Boris Karloff, Betty Everett, Bruce Hornsby, and Miley Cyrus.

This show is perfect for a commute, whether by vehicle, mass transit, walking or biking. It’s short, energizing, and you can impress your co-workers with some knowledge. After all, who knew that November 2 is National Devilled Eggs Day? Also, two presidents had that day as their birthday — James Polk (a good one) and Warren G. Harding (the worst up till now).

The creator/host, Jeff Stampka, should do a productivity podcast because he’s like the Road Runner of indie podcasters. Besides his podcasts, his podcast network, and his consulting company, Jeff runs an internet radio station called Country Underground Radio.

It’s a popular station playing Independent and Underground country music artists. Again, Jeff is supporting indie artists, whether they are podcasters or musicians. Is there a Humanitarian Award for indie podcasters? If so, Jeff should take home the trophy.

As the owner of Coool Media, Jeff produces and markets podcasts, does Event Production and Video Production, Public Speaking, Live Events, and Content Creation via his writing.

We cannot confirm at this time if Jeff actually sleeps or takes a thousand of micro-naps a day.

History and Factoids About Today is definitely ear-worthy, especially for trivia buffs. Listen to this show for a few weeks, and you will surely win Trivia Night at the local sports bar, even if your team’s expertise is in Dressage and opera.

The show is fast-paced, full of interesting nuggets of information, and uplifted by Jeff’s boundless energy. The sound design is fun, with plenty of sonic interjections. As I said, the timing is about 12 minutes, and Jeff fills every minute with fun facts.

History and Factoids About Today is a terrific daily podcast. It’s worth a listen, and once you do, I think it’ll be on your playlist for a long time.

Further, kudos to Jeff Stampka for using his podcast and internet radio outlets to promote indie artists, from musicians to podcasters to entrepreneurs.
