Getting to know model Timmy Drafton

What’s your name and where are you from?

My name is Timmy James Drafton and I was born in Beckley, West Virginia, but I live in Lester, WV currently.

What makes you different as a person and as a model?

Just my drive to be successful, a lot of people in my city don’t make it out, Beckley is a trap. Beckley is full of very talented individuals whether it is rap artists, sports players, or dancers, and drawing artists. We just don’t get enough respect where we are from West Virginia. Everyday I wake up pushing myself to be the best person I can be. I have that never give up mentality. In this industry there are no handouts this isn’t for everyone. This can either boost your self esteem or break you down mentally. I’ve wanted to be famous since I was young. Modeling is a way I can express what I’m feeling inside of me where certain words could never. You have to surround yourself around positive and successful people in order to be successful. My life won’t feel complete until I am on top in the modeling industry. My dream agency to sign with is Wilhelmina Models of NYC. Right now I’ve been working with Joey Joelle

What do you want to accomplish in life?

I wanna give my family everything in this world, I want to be famous, I wanna one day start my own modeling company. I want to give back to my city, and also take care of my whole family. I lost my mother Mabel Drafton and bestfriend back in December right in front of me, the goal was to always give her and my father and whole family everything in this world. She was my biggest motivator, everyday she pushed me and really groomed me to be the best I could be. My dad worked in the coal mines as I was growing up, working 16 hours plus everyday and my mom also worked 2 jobs just so we would have food on the table to eat. They made so many sacrifices for me so that I could be able to chase my dreams, and be able to pursue what I wanted to the most in this life. Having a big name is something I’ve wanted to do since I was a child. I go to sleep at night planning my future out in my head. I’m just trying to turn my dreams into reality and I really want to be taken seriously.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? I see myself rich and famous, I see myself walking in multiple runway shows, and featured in many commercials, and editorial magazine issues. My drive to be successful is crazy, I just know I’m gonna make it. Everyday is a day to get better. Also I’m in school right now working on becoming a dentist. My Aunt Mona Smith was the reason behind me pursuing a career like that, in anyway possible I want to help others out and motivate them to chase for more in this life. My dream is to live in Los Angeles, California. My best friend who is a videographer Jonah Dyer is from there and he is doing a lot of amazing things for a lot of verified artists up there right now. It just pushes me to be great!!

What do you bring to the modeling world?

I bring my positivity, beautiful face, and grind and ambition. There is not a lot of people like me at all. I’ve been through a lot these past couple of years but I’ve stood on all ten and continue to wake up everyday, and work harder. I’m doing this for my whole family, and the younger kids who look up to me. I just wanna be the best I can be.

What legacy do you want to leave behind?

When it’s all done and I’m laying in my casket, I want people to remember me for all the fun times we had and how hard of a worker I was. I want to have impacted a lot of people in multiple ways. I want my future family to have everything as long as I give them the best life possible I will feel complete.
