Crow's Feet Podcast: Life As We Age
October episodes about travel tips and healthy aging.

Travel Tips & Understanding Aging
Programming in any media for senior citizens is an ongoing punchline for many. Let’s be honest, there’s something to it. How else could NCIS be on TV for 23 seasons? Or Fox News be popular. Its average viewer is 64 years old, sitting in the recliner absorbing the sabotaged escalator at the U.N. theory or the Big Lie that cost the network ($787 million) about the 2020 election.
Clearly, people over 65 need better programming. In podcasting, at least, the people at Crow’s Feet are doing something about that. In the Crow’s Feet podcast, you’ll hear the voices of writers who will inspire you and often make you laugh about this journey through life.
As Crow’s Feet reminds us: “More of us are living longer, and that’s a good thing. Getting older is not for the faint of heart, but it is a process that is inevitable. Aging, however, also brings wisdom and humor, a finely-tuned perspective on life.”
In October, Crow’s Feet will release two episodes.
First, “Make some plans and live!” say the ‘traveling nanas,’ viral sensations Ellie Hamby, an international documentary photographer, and Dr. Sandy Hazelip, a geriatrician. The two met 25 years ago, becoming fast friends and intrepid travelers. On the October 8 Crow’s Feet: Life As We Age podcast, Hazelip and Hamby discuss their re-creation of Philieas Fogg’s Around the World in 80 Days journey — in their 80s — while sharing tips on traveling, their philosophies on friendship, life, and living fearlessly, and their new book, Here We Go. Hosted by Nancy Franklin.
On October 22, meet Jeanette Leardi, a social gerontologist, community educator, aging wellness leader, journalist, and author of the new book, Ageing Sideways: Changing Our Perspectives on Getting Older. Leardi offers a surprising new perspective on aging, which involves letting go of the ingrained assumptions we have about growing older. Join host Jan M. Flynn in conversation with Leardi and come away with a refreshed outlook on living our elder years with purpose, vitality, and joy.

Crow's Feet explains: "The online journal Crow’s Feet: Life As We Age, published on the Medium platform, presents the work of hundreds of writers who are tapping into new creative energy and discovering the joys of life at any age.
"Since we started the Crow’s Feet publication in 2019, we have published thousands of articles by writers who are exploring how we can age gracefully. Their writing can be funny or serious, but it is always honest and from the heart. In addition to personal stories of finding meaning late in life, you’ll find essays about facing medical issues or caring for a partner or parent with dementia. Reading them, you discover what it is really like to get older.
"Crow’s Feet: Life As We Age is a volunteer-run publication, created by people who have decades of experience in publishing and marketing, but also in a variety of careers, like nursing and financial planning, or raising a family.
"In June 2022, we launched the Crow’s Feet Podcast, interviewing some of these writers and other innovative leaders who share how they find meaning in the second half of life. We’ve produced nearly 50 episodes in the first two years, and you can listen to them all.
