Blockchain Gaming and Charity: An Interview with GameChangers Founder Arnaud Lery

In this interview, I had the pleasure of speaking with Arnaud Lery, the founder of GameChangers, the first charitable casino built on the blockchain. Arnaud is a student at Harvard University and an aspiring entrepreneur with a passion for online gaming and technology. In our conversation, Arnaud shared his thoughts on the challenges of building an online casino, the potential impact of GameChangers on the world of gaming and charity, and the unique features of the iChips NFT collection. Deeptie: Hello, Arnaud. Thank you for taking the time to talk with me today. I understand that you are a student at Harvard University and an entrepreneur, and I’m excited to learn more about your latest venture, GameChangers. Can you tell me a little bit about the company and what sets it apart from other online casinos?

Arnaud: Hi, Deeptie. Thank you for having me. GameChangers is the first charitable casino built on the blockchain, and we’re using this technology to create a more transparent and fair gaming experience for our players. But what sets us apart from other online casinos is our commitment to charitable giving. Half of our profits are donated to charity, providing a steady source of funding for important causes around the world.

Deeptie: That’s really interesting. Can you tell me more about how you came up with the idea for GameChangers and how you’ve been able to balance your studies at Harvard with your work as an entrepreneur?

Arnaud: Sure. I’ve always been passionate about online gaming and technology, and I saw an opportunity to combine these two interests in a unique and innovative way. I started working on GameChangers while I was a student at the Harvard Extension School, and it’s definitely been a challenge to balance my studies with my work as an entrepreneur. But I’m fortunate to have the support of the Harvard Innovation Lab, which has provided me with the resources and guidance I need to grow my business. And at the end of the day, the satisfaction of creating something new and making a positive impact on the world makes it all worth it.

Deeptie: That’s really impressive, Arnaud. Starting a business and going to school at the same time is no easy feat. Can you tell me more about the challenges you’ve faced while developing GameChangers, and how you’ve overcome them?

Arnaud: Definitely. Building an online casino is no easy task, especially when you’re doing it on the blockchain. There have been a lot of technical challenges, from building a platform that can handle high-volume transactions to creating a user-friendly interface that is accessible to players of all skill levels. But we’ve been fortunate to have a talented team of developers and designers who have been able to overcome these challenges and create something truly special.

Deeptie: That’s really impressive. So, how will players be able to access the casino in the metaverse?

Arnaud: Players will be able to access the casino through a dedicated website or app, or they can visit our virtual casino in the metaverse. We’ve partnered with several companies to create the first virtual real estate development company focused on developing properties in the Sandbox metaverse, and our virtual casino will be one of the first properties available. Players will be able to visit our virtual casino, explore the environment, and play our games in a completely immersive and interactive way. It’s a really exciting development, and we can’t wait for players to experience it for themselves.

Deeptie: That sounds really exciting, Arnaud. I’m sure players will love the immersive experience of visiting your virtual casino in the metaverse. Can you tell me more about the iChips NFT collection that you’re offering? How will you be marketing it to potential buyers?

Arnaud: Absolutely. The iChips NFT collection is a unique aspect of GameChangers, and it’s something that we’re really excited about. The iChips are digital tokens that grant their owners a share of the profits generated by the casino, the right to vote on the future of the casino, and access to exclusive rooms with better betting odds and other perks. We’re offering the iChips for sale in a limited edition NFT collection, and we’re marketing it to potential buyers through a variety of channels. We’re reaching out to potential buyers through social media, email marketing, and targeted advertising, and we’re also attending conferences and events to showcase the iChips and generate interest among potential buyers. We believe that the iChips are a unique and valuable proposition, and we’re confident that they will be well-received by the online gaming and NFT communities.

Deeptie: It sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought into the iChips and how they can add value for players and buyers. And I understand that you’ve received support from the Harvard Innovation Lab. Can you tell me more about how the lab has helped you to develop and grow GameChangers?

Arnaud: Definitely. The support from the Harvard Innovation Lab has been invaluable. As a student at the Harvard Extension School, I was eligible to apply for the lab’s accelerator program, which provides funding, mentorship, and other resources to help entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses. I applied to the program, and I was accepted, which provided me with the initial support I needed to get started. Since then, the lab has continued to provide me with mentorship and guidance as I’ve grown my business. I’ve been able to attend workshops and seminars, connect with other entrepreneurs and mentors, and access the lab’s network of resources and partners. It’s been a great experience, and I’m grateful for the support from the Harvard Innovation Lab.

Deeptie: That’s really impressive, Arnaud. It sounds like the support from the Harvard Innovation Lab has been instrumental in helping you to launch and grow GameChangers. Can you share any secrets or tips for maintaining hard work and focus while balancing school and entrepreneurship?

Arnaud: I think the key to maintaining hard work and focus is to have a clear vision and a strong sense of purpose.

For me, the end goal is not just about making money — it’s about positively impacting the world.

By creating a more transparent and fair gaming experience and donating half of our profits to charity, we can make a difference in the world and make our business sustainable and meaningful. So, when things get tough and I feel like giving up, I remind myself of that larger purpose, which helps me stay focused and keep pushing forward.

Deeptie: That’s really great, Arnaud. It sounds like the support from the Harvard Innovation Lab has been instrumental in helping you to launch and grow GameChangers. I understand that this is not your first venture — you’ve also launched Growf Systems and Arnaud Lery Consulting. Can you compare the challenges of starting and growing these businesses to the challenges of starting and growing GameChangers?

Arnaud: Definitely. Starting and growing any business is a challenging process, and each of my ventures has presented its own unique set of challenges. With Growf Systems, the challenge was creating a software platform that could help businesses to optimize their customer acquisition and retention. We had to build a range of tools and features, then test and iterate on these tools until they were ready for launch. It was a lot of work, but we were able to create a successful business that is helping businesses to grow and thrive.

With GameChangers, the challenges have been different.

We’re building an online casino in a highly regulated and competitive industry, and we’re doing it on the blockchain, which presents unique technical challenges. We also have the added challenge of donating half of our profits to charity, which requires us to be strategic and disciplined in our business operations. It’s definitely been a challenging venture, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding. I believe that our innovative approach and our commitment to charitable giving set us apart from other online casinos, and I’m confident that we’ll be able to succeed and make a positive impact on the world.

Deeptie: That’s really interesting, Arnaud. It sounds like you’ve faced a lot of challenges while starting and growing your businesses, but you’ve also been able to achieve a lot of success. Do you have any closing words or advice for aspiring entrepreneurs who are considering starting their own ventures?

Arnaud: Absolutely. My advice for aspiring entrepreneurs is to be persistent and focused. Starting a business is not easy, and there will be a lot of challenges and obstacles along the way. But if you’re persistent and focused, and if you’re willing to put in the hard work and sacrifice that is required, you can achieve great things.

Don’t be afraid to take risks, and don’t be afraid to fail.

Failure is a natural part of the process and an opportunity to learn and grow. So, be persistent, be focused, and don’t be afraid to take risks.
