Listeners were treated to an emotional and thought-provoking discussion with former boxer, radio show presenter, and motivational speaker Rick Young in the second episode of R.E.A.L. Talk Self with host Silvia Gina Hunt. The conversation swiftly shifted from health and nutrition to more in-depth considerations of spirituality, generosity, and the human condition, continuing where Part 1 left off.

Reminding the audience that this was part of a series with a Thanksgiving and holiday theme, Silvia began the section with heartfelt holiday greetings. She welcomed Rick back and asked him to share his ideas on how to lead a healthy lifestyle, not only for athletes but for anybody looking to achieve physical and spiritual harmony. Rick presented nutrition as both a physical and spiritual practice, stressing the value of water, natural juices, and conscious eating.

The conversation then shifted to Rick's daily routine. Willie Jolley, a speaker, author, and friend, urged him to begin his days with inspirational television. Rick cited a poem by Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, the mentor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., that he found particularly moving: The topic of Rick's daily schedule then came up. He was encouraged to start his days with motivational television by his friend, speaker, and author Willie Jolley. Rick mentioned a poem he found especially poignant written by Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s mentor:

“I only have a minute, 60 seconds in it… but an eternity is in it.”

For Rick, this short verse serves as a daily reminder of the preciousness of time. Silvia resonated deeply with the message, connecting it to her own belief that every moment—whether physical or mental—carries energy and purpose.

Soon after, the conversation turned to Dr. King's legacy, emphasizing his vision of compassion and equality that went beyond his time. Silvia likened King's vision to that of pioneering artists like Miles Davis, who were "ahead of their time" like the futuristic Jetsons we used to only see in cartoons.

Rick then presented the Long Handle Spoon, one of the most potent metaphors in the episode. God shows a man two identical rooms in the story, each with a pot of delectable stew and people using spoons that are too long to feed themselves. Because they are unable to eat, the people in "hell" are starving. Because they feed each other, the people in "heaven" are happy and well-fed.

Rick and Silvia explained the meaning of the parable and made analogies to contemporary inequality and greed. While many people do live compassionate lives, Rick bemoaned the fact that a tiny minority hoard resources, leaving the majority to struggle. Silvia concurred, pointing out that although there is enough food produced worldwide for everyone, the structures we have established—motivated by wealth and influence—spread division rather than harmony.

As they considered human nature, the discussion grew even more open. Even the most avaricious individuals frequently show empathy for their own family, but not always for strangers, according to Rick. Silvia noted that while sharing is instinctive for kids—we give a toy or bottle to someone without thinking twice—society eventually instills the values of competition and withholding.

Silvia lamented how weapons have changed into instruments of dominance that widen the gaps between "the few at the table" and the rest as their discussion came to an end. Originally, weapons were meant to be used for survival and protection, not for human conflict. She and Rick shared a call to love and service as the holidays drew near, reminding listeners that even the smallest actions can have a profound impact. Part 2 of R.E.A.L. Talk Self turned into a meditation on giving, connecting with others, and making the most of our time, emphasizing that real wealth comes from giving rather than keeping.
