Why Gen X is the Worst Generation

I must say it appears that Gen X is the most annoying generation so far. I was born in the early 1970's so that means I am a Gen Xer and most of my generation are annoying, taking about a time that never existed. I thought the Baby Boomers and the Greatest Generation were annoying when I was a kid but Gen X takes the cake. They complain about Gen Z being weak, which I agree, but whose fault is that?

Gen X always brings up all the wonderful stuff we got to do and experience in the 1980's and I admit it was fun but let's not forget it was also Gen X that denied these things to Gen Z. Gen X will tell you that we drank from the garden hose and were out until the street light came on but Gen X will not allow Gen Z or Gen Alpha the same. You really should look up the crime statistics involving children and compare the 1980's with today and guess which era is safer. You can't just tell the younger generation they can't go out and arrange play dates and prevent them from drinking from a garden hose and then turn around and complain that kids don't play outside or do what we did back in the 1980's. Let's also not forget survivorship bias. You often hear Gen X mention all the crazy things we did the the 1980's and how we were survived but forget their were a lot of kids back then that did insane things and are no longer with us. Gen X generally will not allow Gen Z or Gen Alpha to do the crazy things we did because we know how dangerous a lot of it can be, but to behave as if Gen Z and Gen Alpha are lazy for not doing the same when we prevent them from doing it is not very kind. Our Boomer parents only allowed us to do those things since they were the first generation were both parents had to work and didn't know better and were just too tired to deal with us.

I will admit that the 1980's and most of the 1990's were better since the mall was actually fun, pizza hut had good pizza and you could dine in, McDonald's and Burger King had better food and better deals. Guess what the 1980's are over so deal with it.

Gen X complains about the younger generation being on their electronic devices which I admit is a huge problem but let's not kid ourselves if they existed in the 1980's we would be on them all the time or try. Our parents would not allow us to bury our heads in a smart phone or any other electronic device and you cannot blame Gen Z or Gen Alpha for being on them if you are buying them electronic devices. Our parents would not have done such things. It's not Gen Z or Gen Alpha's fault that they have an addiction to electronic devices, it their parents (Gen X and in many cases Millennials).

Ever notice most Karens are Gen Xers? Look at any video and you will notice most are Gen Xers .I do not believe this has to do with our generation but the fact that people in our age group just seem grumpy. I remember in the 1980's when I was a teenager hearing members my my generation brag about how we were going to be cool 75 year olds some day. I guess that went out the window.

Just like most people that lived through the 1980's I miss it and would love to go back but we have to move forward, besides I like todays technology.
