Lazy Jack

In a village, a woman lived with her only son Jack. Jack was very lazy. Neither did he help his mother at home nor did he do any work outside. His mother was very unhappy with this habit of his.

One day, she got angry and said to Jack If you do not start any work from tomorrow, I will throw you out of the house.

Now Jack got scared after hearing this, so the very next day he went to find some work.

While searching for work, he reached a farmer and decided to work with him for the whole day for one paisa.

In the evening, Jack took that paisa coin from the farmer with great joy and went home.

Today he was very happy. Today, for the first time, he had earned money by his hard work. He had never kept money before, so he did not know how to keep money, so he kept on tossing that penny.

While walking, he crossed a bridge which was built over a river. The penny jumped and fell into the river and got lost in it. He came home sad and sad.

When he told this to his mother, she said You should have kept that penny in your pocket.

Jack said in a somewhat sad voice Okay, this time I will do the same.

The next day he went to work for a milkman. In the evening, the milkman gave Jack a jug full of milk in return for his work. As per his mothers advice, he filled it in the big pocket of his jacket.

The next day he again went to work in a farm. After working there the whole day, he got cream cheese as wages. So he kept it on his head as per his mothers instructions.

But what is this Due to the strong sunlight that day, by the time he came home, all the cream cheese melted and his face, hair and clothes all got spoiled.

His mother said angrily Jack, when will you get sense. You should have brought it carefully in your hands.

Jack again promised that he would do the same from the next day.

The next day he went to a bread maker. In return for his work in the evening, he got a cat. He was bringing it carefully in his hands when on the way it started wriggling and it wriggled so much that it escaped from his hands and ran away.

When he reached home empty handed, his mother again got very angry and said – What kind of a man are you, it was a cat, you should have brought it by tying a rope around its neck.

Jack again said – Mother, from tomorrow I will do the same.

The next day he went to a butchers shop to work. That day was Saturday so he gave him a very good shoulder of goat to eat on Sunday.

Jack was very happy to see it that today he would get very good food.

As per his mothers advice, he tied a rope to that shoulder of the goat and started pulling it towards home.

Obviously by the time he reached home with it, that piece had become completely useless.

This time his mother scolded him a lot and said Stupid boy, you are a very useless person. You earn every day and every day you waste it in some way or the other.

Now I have only cabbage for tomorrow, you will eat the same tomorrow. You had to bring this meat on your shoulder.

Jack said very embarrassed Okay mother, next time I will do the same.

On Monday, Jack again went to the cowherd for work. This time he got a donkey in return for his work.

After a lot of trouble, he was able to put the donkey on his shoulders. He took it and started walking slowly and carefully.

On the way to his house, there was a house of a very rich man. He had an only daughter. The rich mans daughter was very beautiful but she was dumb.

She had never laughed in her life. The doctors said that if someone else could make her laugh, then perhaps she would be able to speak.

Everyday in that rich mans house, there used to be some dance, comedy drama, funny stories, funny songs etc. to make her laugh, but till now even a light smile had not come on that girls face.

At last, that rich man announced that whoever makes his daughter laugh, he will marry his daughter to him and will also give all his wealth to him.

And like other days, that evening too, The girl was sitting sadly at the window and looking outside when she saw a strange thing.

A young boy was carrying a live donkey on his shoulders. Seeing this the girl laughed loudly and kept laughing until tears came out of her eyes.

When the rich man heard his daughters laughter he immediately ran and called Jack inside.

As promised he got his daughter married to Jack and gave him all his wealth. Jack went to his inlaws house and now he did not need to work.

He called his mother there and everyone started living comfortably.
