Yeah okay so it’s a little bit cringy…

HI!!!!

Don’t ask me why I came back. It was a sudden spontaneous decision. I left Vocal for a while just because I didn’t feel like it anymore. Nothing personal.

Um… at least, not in THIS past year.

My bio says it all- I HAVE read all the books in the contiguous Warriors series this summer (don’t worry, I’ve definitely read them before now) thus far, and then a few Super Editions and Tales from the Clans and stuff. Me personally, I love Power of Three, mostly because the Jaypaw era is eternally my favorite and I read it in fourth grade while bedridden with sickness. (Or something. The memory is blurry.)

But it was just so cozy! And the plot twists were fire (as we say in… modern times), and the characters were peak, and I think I cried at some point. It was amazing.

And anyway, since I’ve spent the last several weeks just reading and sitting and reading and sitting and walking but going back to reading and sitting (it’s summertime and June was my lazy month before crazy July), now that I’ve finished all the reading I’m doing, I have nothing else to do.

Figuratively, of course.

I have like a million old story ideas- as always. Specifically one that I developed around this time last year and didn’t really expand on. It was meant to be a 10 book series loosely based around Christianity- think Ted Dekker, if you know who that is. His writing is what inspired it originally, actually.

But then it flunked when I got to book 3 and had to stop because 1) school, 2) new ideas, and 3) I didn’t take a reading break.

For the past two years I’ve taken a “reading break,” usually around Christmas break, which is basically where I sit all day and read, and then after those few days of reading I would have the amp and courage to develop a story and write again. And it worked. For at least two years.

But now I feel like it doesn’t quite work anymore?

I have a ridiculous amount of ideas. Animal stories with tribes and Moonthings and wolf pups born in secret and mysterious kittens. People stories with orphans on an island trying to figure out their origins. Minecraft stories from 4 years ago that I have redeveloped like 3 times (there’s GDL, GDL 2022, RE-DL, REWYLL & FRIENDS, and whatever this new series I tried is called…). That one story, the Christian one, which was called The Seven Faces of The Earth and filled a whole section of notebook full of notes. Even a continuation of the Shadowseries (a sequel of what was supposed to be a sequel, but one day, sick, in February, I decided that there was an unnecessary plot hole that I needed to unnecessarily develop into a whole storyline that had changed a million times since I started it), which I am still writing in the faint hope of finishing it.

But I haven’t WRITTEN anything good since like September of last year.

I’m a bit stuck.

Brainstorming after brainstorming, cramming after cramming, having a setting but no plot (especially that orphan story I mentioned, the setting is awesome but the plot is down the drain 😭 [sorry I have the natural Gen Z impulse to use the crying emoji]), I have ended up with nothing.

At least I discovered the joy of hearing a keyboard tapping after typing something on a sign in Minecraft 1.8.9 today (yes that’s the only version I play, and yes I have become that desperate). But what’s the point of the keyboard tappin’ if you ain’t got any words? You can hear a keyboard any day by just smashing the keys!

*breath*

Ok so I’m back. And I just dumped all my thoughts here.

I’m reading the last Warriors book in my possession- Bluestar’s Prophecy, an old used book I got from a used bookstore with the old Bluestar design on it (Bluestar 4eva!!)- and after that I will have to make a decision.

What am I to do?

What am I going to write?

Is my worth based in what I write because I don’t know what else I can do? (No, but it certainly feels that way.)

Oh also I came back because someone from the Vocal team sent me an email and I thought it was wholesome. That’s… probably because I tried to unsubscribe like 3 times and they were like “uhhh hey broski are you still there cuz like why is your account still up and stuff and you seemed kinda mad?”

Either that or it was a bot.

Lol hi everybody <3

Peace n love!
