Nigerian singer Chike is currently doing the media rounds in promotion of his latest album, The Brother's Keeper. During one of his stops, the talented singer stopped at Cool FM to play a game of Sip or Spill and talk more about his album, his personal life, and to share some interesting stories. Here are some highlights from the conversation that Chike shared.

Is there a very petty reason that you were talking stage with a particular babe and you said "you know what, I'm not doing this anymore?"

Chike: I don't know if it was even petty but I know I met someone and the way she was eating, I'm like "what is this?" God, you could hear her swallow. You could hear, urgh! [imitates nasty chewing sounds]. Then when she's doing that, she'll now still try to engage you in a conversation while doing that. Like I cringed like 2 billion times. This is what happens when you go for speck before knowing the person. You don see speck wey you go say "Hey! Ewo." Oh no. I don't even think I've ever been put off like that in my life. Honestly after that day, I've never seen her till today. If she dey even check on me, I no dey check on her. She cannot know who she is, everybody eats when you meet them. She doesn't know she's the one.

Which female celebrity is in your DM right now?

None. None, I don tell you. This "in your DM", I know the vibe of this "in your DM". So me I no go fall for this vibe. You get? So none.

But are you in any female celeb's DM?

Ah, plenty o! Yes na.

Before knacks, do you care about her pleasure or your pleasure?

Ah, I care about her pleasure o! Her pleasure makes it stay longer. Yes, it is a longer sport.

There is something about your body of work when you put it out. The first one, Boo of the Booless and now The Brother's Keeper, in the shortest period of time, with little or no promotion, people go crazy for it. What would you say is making people consistently want to do that with your projects?

Of course I don't want to go all spiritual because there's work but I can tell you that anytime I want to put out a project, I always say "God I don't have anybody, or I don't have people like that." The one prayer I always pray is whoever hears it should talk about it. But definitely the work is part of it. We put in the work. We have to promote more even now because you know a lot more is happening. And then you need to be able to get to your listeners.

What do you think about Chike's answers? Is there a petty reason or any reason at all why you have stopped talking to a person even though they were your speck? If so, let me know the story and your thoughts by leaving a comment either below or on my Jide Okonjo Facebook post.
