Why I So Much Love Nigeria - Russian Lady Who Now Drives Keke

A Russian lady who goes by the name 'Oyibo in Africa' on social media like Tiktok is now opening up about how she ended up driving keke for work here in Nigeria, and why she really loves the country. During a new interview with the woman whose real name is Kate, she opened up about how she ended up in Nigeria, what she loves about the country, and why she has been here ever since she stepped foot into the country. Here is what Kate said.

Speaking about why how she got into Nigeria, started driving keke here, and why she loves it, content creator 'Oyibo in Africa' said:

My name is Kate, I'm from Russia. I love to travel a lot. I visited so many countries. So one day I was tired of Europe, it just got boring for me then I decided, "let me discover Africa". Then I just got VISA and come.

In my country, Russia, I'm a taxi driver, I'm doing taxi work. My job, my boss was too crazy so I decided to do my own business. So I'm free to do it, anytime I want to get a vacation, I can just go and travel. Anytime I want. I was working in a milk factory as a manager. It was a big place.

Nigerians are very friendly people. Everybody was good to me. So then later, I just found some friends, they stay in Canada, and I just started living with them. They're very nice and friendly people. I didn't know anybody [when I came]. I just decided to travel around Africa, Nigeria was my first country, so after Nigeria, I've not travelled anywhere again. Only Nigeria.

To live in Nigeria, you need to adapt to a lot of things because sometimes there is no light, sometimes water in your area is not good, there is fuel scarcity. Also, you need to adapt to food. But with all those things, I'm still enjoying this country. I still love it so much. I really love it.

Reactions are really crazy from some people because they never expect you do some kind of stuff. Driving keke, so they will be looking like what the hell is going on? Some people will laugh at you. Actually, some people even say I'm racist by doing my stuff, by doing my videos, but most of them, they really find it funny. Some are really in love with my videos, they're really enjoying it.

Maybe [I started driving keke] because it's related to my work in Russia, like a taxi driver, so this idea just come to my head in one day and I just decided to do it.

Actually, Russia is kinda boring. I never do these kind of things in Russia.

Some aspects in this Nigerian life is not easy but I think it is about bad government, we all know. But what I like about this life is that Africans are free people, very free people. So anything they think, they will say. They are very friendly. They can do anything. It's just a cruise country. I really like it.
