Speaking about the nine months she faced without pay, and about economic empowerment for women, Real Warri Pikin said:

REAL WARRI PIKIN: One of the worst things that can happen to any lady in this life is when her two back pockets dey touch, when she no get economic power. That thing dey frustrate!

It get one time for my life when national youth corps give me employment. I became a civil servant, and for civil service, them no go pay you for nine months. The ninth month, them go come give you full arears, the money go come as block. That day when the alert come, my phone off na.

But those nine months I didn't receive salary, my two back pocket dey touch, no economic power. Anything wey I want, I go ask Ikechukwu. I want to eat this one, I go ask am. Anything I wan do, I go ask am. Sometimes I go wan dey considerate cuz the kain pregnancy cravings wey I come dey get ehn? I go come dey feel bad say make December reach fast, make my arears enter. That feeling no good o! As a woman, even though everywhere soft. But that feeling where even that small thing that you want, you don't ask anybody, you can just afford it by yourself, that thing in itself is satisfying.

Even that time, if some of my friends carry me out go restaurant go chop, I go wait for them to order first, make I know how much their food be, because they be the sponsor. I go know how much their food be first, and either I go buy the same thing or I go buy less because you go wan dey considerate. But now 2024, I get economic power. Anything wey I crave: if na tacos o, rami o, pizza, shawarma, I go fit accord am. Every woman needs economic power.

Shoutout to my husband wey don support me till today, wey dey my back like eczema. He's making sure his wife must have economic power. Men out there, e go good to support your wife. Get all the money in the world, but e go good say you get wife for house and the woman fit afford bad! E go good.
