When a girl was in her 17th…
A real life love story
When a girl was in her 17th, she was just discovering the magic of love—the kind she had only read about in books or seen in movies. Her name was Aanya, a quiet, dreamy girl who found solace in music and poetry. She lived in a small town where life was simple, but her heart longed for something extraordinary.
That summer, her world changed when she met Aryan. He was a year older, confident, and had a charm that made people gravitate toward him. They met at a school debate competition, where Aanya, though intelligent, was too shy to speak up. Aryan, on the other hand, was articulate and bold. He noticed her hesitance and, after the event, walked up to her with a reassuring smile.
"Hey, you had some great points back there. You should speak up more," he said, his deep brown eyes twinkling with encouragement.
Aanya, taken aback by his attention, could only manage a small smile. But that was the beginning.
In the weeks that followed, their paths kept crossing—at the library, during inter-school events, and even at the local café where Aanya loved to read. Aryan would always find a reason to talk to her, and soon, they became friends. What started with casual conversations turned into long discussions about books, dreams, and life.
Aryan was different from the boys Aanya had known. He listened when she spoke, he made her laugh, and most importantly, he made her feel seen. He had a passion for photography and would often capture the most ordinary things in the most beautiful ways—sunsets, rain-drenched streets, an old couple walking hand in hand. One day, he surprised Aanya with a picture of her, lost in thought, reading under a tree.
"This," he said, handing her the photo, "is my favorite picture I've ever taken."
Aanya felt her cheeks warm, and in that moment, she knew—she had fallen in love.
As months passed, their bond deepened. They would go on long walks, share their favorite songs, and talk about their dreams—Aryan wanted to travel the world, and Aanya wanted to write stories that would touch hearts.
But love stories are rarely without obstacles. Aryan’s father got a job transfer, and his family was moving to another city. The news hit them hard. They were too young to make big promises, yet too deeply connected to let go.
Their last evening together was spent by the lake where they had shared many conversations. Aryan took out a small notebook and handed it to her.
"I started this the day I met you," he admitted. Inside were sketches, poems, and little notes about their time together. "You said you wanted to write stories. Maybe one day, you’ll write ours."
Aanya, with tears in her eyes, hugged him tightly. They didn’t say ‘goodbye’—they just held onto each other, hoping that fate would bring them together again.
Years passed. Aanya pursued her dream of writing and became an author. She wrote about love, loss, and the bittersweet beauty of memories. One day, at her first book launch, a familiar voice called her name.
She turned, and there he was—Aryan, holding a copy of her book, smiling just as he had years ago.
"Looks like you wrote our story after all," he said.
And just like that, some love stories never truly end. They just find their way back.
