Is it just me, or are animals not the only entities in this world going extinct? The world used to be a more humanistic place, magical even. Now it's very quietly and discreetly, but very evidently, becoming more and more savage. More inhuman.
Day by day the number of cruelty acts humans inflict on other humans is increasing while the number of acts of kindness is stagnant or declining. More and more people in our world today are transgressing and no matter what, no matter how many people attempt to stop this or stand against these acts of cruelty and unkindness, it is sadly to no avail.
People are increasingly becoming less considerate more introverted; concerned only with their wants and needs, so thwarpted within their own little bubble, rarely making an actual public appearance. But with this ever-evolving age of technology who could or even should expect anything else.
Kindness and the act of being kind to one another are now being replaced with its alter ego, cruelty and it's brother greed. Little by little we see fewer acts of kindness and more acts of greed and cruelty, which could be said to be the foundational cause for all the corruption happening in this world. And if that be true. What a sad becoming that is.
It seems like more and more people are growing accustomed to this status quo of not focusing or caring about others, just sticking to their own lanes minding their own business, with their faces glued to screens for the most part. No longer do people seem to be kind when coming into contact with one another, you no longer see people smile and say hello to one another when they come across each other on the streets, as often as they used to in the past. No longer do people watch out for one another, not in the same sense or way they used to. People no longer seem to really pay attention to those around them.
The new generations of children are not being taught the same disciplines that include kindness and caring as previous generations; if they are, they are lacking compared to the generations of children that came before them. This all could be a result of children nowadays spending most of their time with their eyes glued to a screen of some sort, while the parents take care of their needs and wants, whether those be health and fitness related, or keeping up with their personal hygienes, or enjoying themselves with a glass or two of alcohol.
The saddest thing about this evolution of kindness is that it was the thing that made the world a more likable place. A happy place. Kindness and being kind are what made this world magical.
If there is anything we must work on most, within ourselves and with others, it is kindness and being kind, to ourselves first and foremost, then to others. We must bring back the magic, for we are not getting anywhere good by continuing on this path of greed and cruelty. We are not bettering ourselves or this world we live in by continuing on this path, but rather deepening the hole we are digging ourselves into.
By being kind we could do so much more good, we could evolve and elevate ourselves and this world we live in, add more positive attributes to it. Attract and bring in so much more abundance to ourselves and to others.
Practicing acts of kindness to ourselves and to others, little by little, could very well become the domino effect that leads us out of the darkness we are at present pushing ourselves into, allowing us to resuscitate that happy, magical world we lived in once upon a time.
