I know a young boy from Nepal.

Just like some boys from his neighborhood, he could not pursue education. He was poor. When he grew up, he did random jobs to just survive.

Then totally out of the blue, he fell in love with a beautiful girl. The families were against their relationship. He acted. He eloped with her to another country.

They both had no formal education. They neither had remarkable skills nor prior work experience to survive in the new country. They both were in the late teen years.

After months of strenuous and unspeakable hardships, the boy got a job as a cleaner in an organization. He was overjoyed, despite the paltry pay. He just wanted to feed his girl and survive.

Living below his means was an art he had learned and mastered. A month later, the girl got a job in the Airport. This too, was a cleaner’s job.

The girl’s salary was almost twice that of the boy’s. The young couple could not have asked for anything better. Life just began for them.

They both stayed in different places due to work. She was given a flat to share with many other colleagues.

The living standards were harsh and unforgiving. He saved a lot of what he earned to buy a smartphone. Staying away from the love of his life despite being in the same country was painful for both. Yet, they endured the pain.

He started talking to his girl using the smartphone. He started calling his parents. They were in distress and pain because of what he had done. The boy started consoling them.

“I am fine here. I will be back home soon. I am doing what is best for me and the girl who loves me like her life,” he comforted his parents.

The young couple learned English and Hindi. They could converse in both languages pretty well.

A year went by.

Same workplaces. Same places of living. Same pay.

They both would wait for the one day in a week to meet, share their stories.

She would speak of how many nationalities she saw in the airport. She would describe how people hugged each other when they departed.

“We would be as happy as those people are, yes?” she asked him, her eyes curiously fixed on his. “Oh yes we would be,” he replied emphatically.

They spent the nights talking over Skype. He made her laugh with his silly jokes. They conversed in English and laughed over each other’s language errors.

Years went on.

Their financial statuses have just improved a little.

They did more shopping. They bought a laptop together and celebrated the success by throwing a tea party for friends.

By now, he has begun fixing issues in almost every electronic appliance. He could design his own stereo system using the worn-out parts of old audio devices.

He could write in English. He could do some administrative jobs in his office. He began using Microsoft Excel.

The couple visited beaches and other places. They shared all their stories.

He would cook for her and pack the meal. They would go to the beach, sit down and eat. The laughter echoed for a very long time. Their life was a bliss.

His wife is a differently abled person. Heck, he could love in the midst of hell.

This is the story of an office boy in my company.

Most people consider him nothing. He is almost invisible during the bustling office hours. People consider him largely disposable.

But in him, a whole sparkling universe is raging on.

Biggest misconception people have about life?

That their life has no story to tell. You are wrong.

Everyone has a tale to tell. Just sit back and listen to yourself. You, regardless of how insignificant others think you are, could be inspirational to many through your stories.

Just ensure that the pages of your life are worth reading :)
