Wanted Dead or Alive?
How Many of Your Favorite Artists Are Merely Pawns in a Dangerous Game
We often look at celebrities and think to ourselves that these folks really have it made. They're on tv shows, live in big mansions and have millions in the bank. What could possibly go wrong in their lives? Then you hear about them dropping dead out of nowhere.
Come to find out, we really don't know these people as much as we think we do.
They could've made "pacts with the Devil" for all we know.
One thing about making a deal with "the Chief Commander" is that he wants his investment with compound interest wherever and whenever he wants.
Doesn't matter if a loved one's sick and in the hospital because all you're going to hear from him is,
"Ahhhhhhh, FUCK YOU; PAY ME!" Ray Liotta style from the movie, Goodfellas.
Knowing something like that would make you appreciate your job at the UPS so much more.
Now the truth is that more money really would solve a lot of our problems but if it's given under a false pretense then it will only exasperate them.
Speaking of mo' money, mo' problems, I just came across a fascinating article involving country singer Toby Keith's estate.
Keith passed away Feb. 5th of this year and his widow wants to keep all of his personal business dealings "a secret."
She believes that if they were ever made accessible to the public that the family would receive even more death threats then they already incur.
The article goes on to state that Keith placed much of his assets into an assumed name to protect himself and his family.
When I first read that, I got this vibe that something just didn't feel right.
Without any doubt, they're hiding something because his wife pretty much admitted it in the documents.
The question is what are they hiding and why?
It could be just as she stated that they're trying to avoid being hassled and threatened on an every day basis over his amassed fortune.
And of course, we all have an ordained right to privacy but my nosy ass knows there's more to the story then that.
The article mentions about how he hired private security to be with him and his family day and night.
Even mafia chieftains don't go through all those steps.
This sounds more like the kind of security detail for a drug kingpin rather then a country music superstar.
It can't be soley because of fans because there's a simple protocol when dealing with them when you don't want to bothered by them.
You simply have a 300 lb. plus gorilla-sized bodyguard tell them, "NO" and shoo them away.
Maybe it's some sinister entity that he might be afraid to tell no.
It could be that Keith got himself involved in something he shouldn't have gotten involved with.
Maybe, if people were to find out about his investments then they could track them down and find out where all that money's really going.
One thing about the dolla, dolla bill is that it goes everywhere.
It's like Det. Freamon said in the hit tv series, The Wire,
"you follow the money and you don't know where the fuck you might end up."
The article mentions about how they’ve been receiving threats for years so that means people already have an idea of what they have so the threats aren’t going anywhere nor do I think the info being released will increase them.
This all reminds me of a story I heard told about singer Mariah Carey when she was married to music mogul, Tommy Mottola.
Jermaine Durpi shared details of what the security was like for the pop singer.
The music mogul stated that Carey was surrounded by bodyguards with machine guns all throughout the day.
Why do you need an armed militia to protect "the Princess of Pop?"
To my knowledge, Mariah Carey has never been a gangsta rapper so you can't use the excuse of her music as being the reason.
On the other hand, Mottola has long been rumored of being associated with an "unsavory cast of characters."
Even with Mottola's "connections," I still wonder why SHE would need all this security when they're already living in a gated area to begin with?
Could it be to further protect themselves from the industry that these people are involved with?
You know, the music industrial complex has been notorious for all kinds of shady dealings.
Speaking of shady, the subject of Keith's net worth comes to mind.
His net worth's an estimated 400 million dollars which I'm highly skeptical of so I did some research on Keith and learned a few things about the late singer.
First, I had no clue that he had been making records since 1993.
In fact, I never heard of him until all of the Dixie Chicks controversy came about back in the early 2000's.
He's sold roughly 40 million records which is great but proves even further to me that if he's worth 400 mil, it's not from record sales.
Music legend Prince, who passed on in 2016 was worth anywhere between 200–300 million dollars at the time of his death and he sold over 100 million records worldwide.
Michael Jackson's estate is assumed to be worth billions of dollars but you also hear reports of him being broke just the same and he sold way more records then Keith could ever dream of selling.
I once read a story involving Sheryl Crow where it was someone connected to her talking about how much she "missed the sale of physical media," i.e., CD's, albums & cassettes.
The woman also stated that because of that, Crow doesn't do as well as she used to monetarily.
Out of curiousity, I went and checked out her net worth as well.
It says that she's worth 70 million dollars so I wondered to myself,
"How in the world could she be struggling?!"
Then I read some of the comments from the article and one commenter broke it down perfectly.
He said something along the lines of that these people may be worth 70 mil but they do NOT have 70 mil which brings me back to Keith's alleged net worth.
It could be that he's not as rich as folks would assume he is and maybe, that's what his wife's trying to protect.
I'm going to be honest here; A lot of these entertainers are flat broke.
We just THINK they have a lot of money because we see them on tv driving big cars and living in spacious mansions which they own neither of.
The creditors do.
Yep, celebs are just like the majority of the American people living check to check because of extreme debt.
A lot of these celebs are all about projecting a certain image but it's all smoke and mirrors.
You know what car mirrors say on them; Objects in mirror are closer then they appear meaning things aren't always what they seem.
Bottom line: These people are assets which can be traded away anytime.
The real question is, who owns them?!
Also, I have to mention about one of the pictures I saw of Keith in the article.
He looked rather sickly and in declining health even then.
That could be another reason for the all the secrecy; To conceal the real truth about his demise.
Who really knows at this point?!
One thing I do know for sure is that there's more to all of this then avoiding pesky fans looking for autographs and pictures.
It has to be somebody that you can't say no to and even if you did, they wouldn't take it; They'd just take it.
