They're both speaking out

Over the last couple of days, Omoni Oboli's Youtube movie Love in Every Word has been the talk of the town. The movie which stars reality TV star and actress Bambam alongside beloved Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has been getting a lot of love, and criticism for different reasons.

On the positive side, some people have been swooning over the portrayal of love and the almost Cinderella-type fairytale of having someone perfect come and swoop you up and spoil you especially financially. On the other hand, some people have been bashing Uzor's portrayal of 'Odogwu Paranran' as being somewhat of a stereotype and caricature of Igbo men; as well as some people saying that the character isn't realistic and calling him a 'simp'.

Well, now two actors, Ufuoma McDermott and star of the movie himself Uzor Arukwe, are responding to the negative comments against the movie. Here's what both Ufuoma and Uzor had to say.

Taking to social media to react to the criticisms the film has been getting, Ufuoma McDermott wrote saying:

UFUOMA MCDERMOTT: Are we serious about this "Stereotype" conversation?

.... in an actor's character interpretation?

...Of a fictional character 😅

Am I missing something?

Abi I no watch am well?

Was there a part where he was alluded to be " all igbo men"?

Wasn't his friend Nnamdi (I hope i got the name right) speaking with a foreign accent on the phone?

Is he perhaps also a stereotype?

... God sha works in mysterious ways.

Let them rush to youtube and see the stereotype in the feem. . Anywhich way is still a way

Thank you.

Meanwhile, in response to a person who said about the movie "Anambra man are not simps . Your movie is liked only my ladies who have always had the illusion of an odogwu that’ll spend his last dime on them," actor Uzor Arukwe said:

UZOR ARUKWE: Taking care of your woman and spending money on her doesn’t make you a simp. It only makes you a responsible man. How else do you show love to your partner if you can’t take care of their needs from the abundance of your wealth? 😊

He further went on to say:

UZOR ARUKWE: Odogwu Paranran is saying thank you for all the love that has been shown towards our film!!! You guys have shown him “Love In Every Word” by watching Love In Every Word 🖤 I appreciate it✨
