Totally Creepy! 2wai App Offers Continued Relationships with Past Loved Ones with AI
An X post by actor Calum Worthy has gone viral while saying his co-founded 2wai app will let you continue having relationships with loved ones who have passed away via artificial intelligence.
Ever since the subject of artificial intelligence (AI) came into being, it has received mixed reactions. Many people, especially writers, are accusing AI of taking their jobs, while others applaud it, and have fun with its many related apps.
However, one usage of artificial intelligence is horrifying many people on social media, as the 2wai app cofounded by actor Calum Worthy, is making a totally creepy offer. The app basically gives users the chance to replace their dead loved ones with an AI “person” with whom they can continue their relationship forever.
Continue Relationships with Dead Relatives and Friends with AI
- Using Artificial Intelligence
AI does, admittedly, offer a range of benefits, but many fear some of the opportunities available with the app. As a writer currently seeking new work, I have struggled to find a new job, “thanks” to artificial intelligence. In fact, as each new position is made available, it automatically attracts hundreds of applicants within minutes. This soon takes away your confidence in your skills.
I must say, I have considered teaming up with AI to make some much-needed cash. In fact, I have been offered two AI interviews for training jobs to increase their efficiency. The first was with a convincing “person,” who looked very lifelike. However, the second took me to a page with a small, cartoonlike artificial intelligence interviewer tucked away in a corner. I found it very difficult to relate to the simple questions that it posed.
I knew that there was no human listening at the time of having the interview and somehow my mind went blank, unable to answer the simple questions. The position on offer was to train the company’s AI characters and chatbots and it clearly needs that training, but unfortunately, it won’t be from me.
- Creepy app allows continued relationships with lost loved ones
Actor Calum Worthy has co-founded the 2wai app, which promises its users the ability to upload footage of a loved one. This footage is then converted to an AI avatar with which the user can continue to "enjoy" a relationship, even years after their passing. To many of us, this is totally creepy and like something out of Black Mirror.
The 2wai app was first released in June 2026 for actors, under a vague banner giving “agency over their own likeness — with their own avatars to use AI to amplify their voice, not replace it.” However, almost immediately, the company began launching ads to immortalize a loved one while using artificial intelligence.
Fast forward to August, and Worthy starred in an advert revealing a man speaking to a 2wai avatar of his mother, who tells him, “You’ve got this, take it one step at a time.” Meanwhile, Worthy tells viewers the app can allow you to “Get help when you need it.”

Trying to convince users that chatbots are people
It’s not only 2wai as many AI corporations seek to convince users that chatbots are people. Moreover, they push the narrative that a person is nothing more than a certain appearance with particular speech tendencies.
According to Caitlin Johnstone, they are “attacking the very philosophical and moral underpinnings of our entire society stretching back through millennia of human civilization, and they are doing it for money.”
Meanwhile, the companies actively encourage users to view their chatbots as living people with real feelings. Allegedly, this is to keep them emotionally addicted to their AI product.
As readers no doubt know, this world is all about big corporations taking everything from us plebs and trying to convince us that a computer program is a real person, while threatening to unravel society’s understanding of what a person actually is.
