to people ive loved before

you will be heart broken more than once in your life. this is because there is a different person for you in each season of your life until your forever comes around. this is why we go through so many different friendships and relationships.

at one point in your life you'll meet your first love. this is the cheesy love with awkward one armed hugs and never holding hands. the one that might have gotten you a cheesy small stuffed puppy for valentines day. they hang out for about a month maybe a few more then you break up. sometimes you stay friends though!

then theres a friend you've probably met in middle school who would mess with you all the time. they were probably annoying at first but then somehow you became inseparable. this could be a boy or girl. this is the person you end up doing everything with. maybe you're still friends now who knows. they just get you. they understand you.

theres always a bad guy. you don''t necessarily know they're the bad guy yet they probably start off being really nice to you. sometimes they can even help build you up. then one day things just... change. communication starts to fall off and the next thing you know is rumors are flying through the air. as much as this person hurts you they taught you a lesson. even if it takes weeks, months, or years to realize. now you might be thankful for that person.

heres the fun one. the complicator. nothing with them seems to make sense. everything always seems jumbled. one minute you're doing everything together and the next thing you know they act as if they want nothing to do with you. they somehow always show you a good time when they're around though. it always seems like you cant quite let go of them because you always think no they'll come back. they leave you hanging just enough so that you cant completely let go. they keep you wrapped around their finger. this could be a friend or a significant other.

you'll meet someone one day who you will always be there for even when they've never been there for you. they come to you for everything but as soon as you need someone to talk to or you need help they're nowhere to be found. its almost like they vanish and don't exist anymore. oh wait then a week later they're back. you're too nice to cut them off so you continue to help anyways. this person teaches you to rely on yourself because not everyone will be there for you.

one day you'll meet someone out of the blue and immediately click with them. you'll wonder why you've never spoken before because they've been right under your nose the whole time. people would look at the two of you and think you've been friends for years. when you're with this person time doesn't exist. its as if it stops. time flies by with them. you'll share lots of laughs, smiles, hugs, maybe even tears with this person. you probably think they're your person but time reveals to you that, unfortunately is not the case. this love seems to break you to the point of no rebuilding. it makes you question yourself. in the long run it makes you stronger and it may take a while to figure that out and thats okay. the good memories are something you'll always hold dear, and the bad ones are reminders of things to look out for next time.

unfortunately i haven't found my person yet (maybe i have and just don't know it yet). i have however met a version of each of the people above and loved each of them. some i still love. people come and go and so does heartbreak. from my own experience of the people listed above they were all there in a season of my life that i needed them. i have many more people to meet and learn about. this is the knowledge i pass to you. be excited to meet people throughout your life. find lessons to take from each person. and to the people i've loved before... thank you.
