I have driven through Nashville. I always thought I would go back and attend some music events. I thought I may go there with my husband, who listens to primarily old country. He is not much of a fan of new country. So, I am not really sure that he will like Nashville. Well, that is not true. Maybe I am trying to make excuses for not going with him before now. Or even not going with him now. He would probably love it and that is the rub!! Will this be rubbing him the wrong way. I spoke with him and he did not seem to care one way or the other. Is it because we have no definite plans yet? Is it that he really doesn't care and would not want to spend money going to Nashville. He tells me he is content staying home and doing the things he does here. If we had lots of money, he wouldn't mind going to Hawaii once.

How this all started. I love music. All music. I got on zoom with two of my sister friends and they said, "Let's take a trip." Both single ladies. A road trip was mentioned. I said, I am in! When Nashville was mentioned, I should have said, no, I can not go there without my hubby! They would understand. Then I thought, we can go back after I scope it out. Then when we do only what he wants to, I will be fine with that as it is his turn. Sound good? I thought so, until now. I am second guessing my decision.

First thing I thought I would do before you get the idea that we may be the ones in the picture above, I will get this straight. We are a bit older, wiser and even lovelier. You can see this in the photograph below.

Rose, Me and Mary

For this trip, Mary scheduled the zoom call and we decided we will be going to Nashville. Both Rose and Mary have been there before and decided they would like to go back as there were things they didn't get to do or have time for. It will be fun to go with two people that know what is all there! We have been supporting each other and going places together for forty plus years. It is so fun to be able to take trips like this with people you trust and can get along with and I know we will have plenty of laughs.

As you may or may not be able to tell in the photo, Mary will be our trip planner. Going to the boundary waters canoe area (BWCA) for many years was because of Mary and her leadership skills. Rose and I can run those trips ourselves at this point, however, it is much more fun just showing up and having someone plan the meals and just tell me what I owe her. We have talked of putting the BWCA on a bucket list. Rose, especially thinks Mary should plan to. I went a few years ago with my son, and at the time, I wasn't sure I could get in and out of the canoe or in and out of the tent, but I did. I won't say never again.

Mary, Me and Rose

At our second zoom meeting we planned to meet face to face for planning. We caught up a bit on what is going on in our life and who is sick and in trouble in our families. I let them know I have a gift card from my bank that I cashed in points for that is $100. for BP gas stations. Rose thought she may see how many points she has. This is my first contribution toward our trip! Thank you AP! We will talk about when we are going, and most of the details soon. Rose and I will be okay with Mary doing everything and billing us. Or we will be okay with splitting up the duties. Mary is still working full-time, while Rose and I have been retired for some time now and are working part-time. And you know that means that Mary is the youngest. Sometimes the youngest gets much of the work as we get older.

On top, Rose's daughter, Mary, Rose and I, Bottom photo, Rose, me, my sister Carrie and her husband Curtis.

We will have fun as we always do. We are slower and will have to think more carefully about what we intend to do when we are there. We will have more stops on the way there and back, which means the drive will take longer. We are doing the trip over a long weekend, which means we will be in Nashville for a shorter time over all. Our drive will be straight through with lots of bathroom and coffee breaks. Because we are all used to driving, we should each get some time to sleep on the trip there and back. I know I do best in early morning and have trouble with my night vision. Hope that can work in to the plans. I am getting excited about the trip, even though we still do not have a date or even a month!

There are other places I would like to go. I always want to go to where family are and I have family in Texas, New Mexico and a sister friend in Michigan. My husband has family in Arizona. Since we are having trouble right now, due to the pandemic, getting to visit family in our same state it is unlikely we will get to family out of state anytime soon. For me and I think for them this is the other rub. Not being able to stop to visit family on this or other trips.
