The World Health Organization defines health as "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, rather than the absence of disease and infirmity."

The definition of health from the World Health Organization can be seen, and our traditional understanding is clearly different: it contains three basic elements: (1) physical health; (2) Mental health; (3) Have social adaptability.

The ability to adapt to society is the primary standard of mental health recognized internationally. Comprehensive health includes physical health and mental health, which are closely related and cannot be separated without one. This is the essence of the concept of health.

Many people believe that physical health and mental health are two unrelated concepts. Actually, that's not true. In real life, mental health and physical health are linked and interact with each other, and mental health affects people's physical health all the time. If a person is withdrawn and psychologically depressed for a long time, it will affect the secretion of hormones, reduce the resistance of people, and the disease will take advantage of the situation. If a person who is otherwise healthy is always suspicious of his illness, he will be depressed all day and finally become really ill.

Therefore, in daily life, on the one hand, we should pay attention to reasonable diet and physical exercise, on the other hand, we should cultivate our own sentiment, broaden our mind, and avoid being in a tense emotional state for a long time. If you feel that your mood continues to be unhappy, you should carry out psychological self-adjustment in time, and go to the psychological clinic or psychological counseling center to receive help when necessary, so as to ensure your overall mental and physical health.

With the rapid development of natural science and the arrival of the information age, our society is also undergoing unprecedented changes. The degree of industrialization, modernization, socialization and integration is constantly improving. In real life, the so-called normal people have a lot of people all day sad, upset, with sleeping pills, long-term struggle in depression and despair, suffering, and even suicide; There are many people with wine all day long, with wine on the drunk, hit people call names; There are many antagonisms, conflicts, lawsuits, crimes; Many people often catch a cold, suffer from hypertension, arthritis and other non-organic diseases, and even suffer from terminal diseases and early death. There are many who are incompetent, frustrated, miserable, poor; There are many students who do not study well; There are many people who are troubled by sexual problems; There are many people who can not get along with people's normal communication, all day suspicious; Many families are troubled by a member's mental illness; Many couples are discordance, quarrel, fight, divorce...

Each and every one of us should be psychologically healthy as described above, but because of the psychological damage we receive over the course of our lives. In fact, the so-called normal people in life are not in the best state of people, but in the sub-health state between the best state of people and disease. We are far from what nature has given us.

Living in such a complicated and confusing environment, it is necessary to ask people to have a higher psychological quality to adapt to the requirements of The Times and society. Now people have begun to realize the importance of mental health, more and more concerned about their own and their relatives and friends together with the state of mental health.
