Poon Hill Trek

One of the more straightforward loops in the Annapurna region is probably the Poon Hill Trek. The Poon Hill trip, commonly referred to as the Annapurna Dawn trek, takes you to a famous hilltop location from which you may watch the sunrise over the spectacular Himalayan ranges. The Poon hill trip is best suited for novice hikers because it only takes four days to get here.

The stunning dawn above the Annapurna Mountains adds to the Poon Hill Trek's allure. This unusual sighting contributes to the destination's thriving tourism industry. You don't need to worry about the lodgings because there are several eateries and guesthouses along the Poon Hill walk. Before undertaking a more challenging trip, such as the Annapurna Base Camp, the Poon Hill trek may be used as an acclimatization hike.

Anyone may try the Poon Hill climb because to its relatively low elevation of 3193 meters, which lowers the danger of altitude sickness. The Poon Hill Trip is the simplest trek in Nepal and can be finished in approximately 6-7 days.

Accommodation In Poon Hill Trek

The hike starts in Pokhara, which is known as Nepal's main tourist destination. In some of the opulent hotels with high-end amenities, you may relax. You'll need to get used to the minimal lodgings as you go. As you climb higher, you will come across real teahouses made of wood and stone. These teahouses provide rest rooms that are hygienic and cozy and meet your basic needs.

Typically, each room has two single beds with fresh bed linens, plush pillows, and a blanket on each bed. If you request one, you will receive an additional blanket. You will pay a little bit more to use wifi and charge your phone.

In Ulleri, Ghorepani, and Ghandruk, you'll find cozy rooms with private bathrooms and warm showers. If you want hot showers, you can be required to pay more. The majority of rooms in Tadapani are shared by two individuals. Many teahouses are made to accommodate your needs. We advise bringing toilet paper with you for convenience.

Phone Network & Internet

Most teahouses and guesthouses provide wifi for between 100 and 200 Nepali rupees. It is only partially dependable and is restricted to a few regions. In the majority of locations along the Poonhill hike, there is a strong internet connection. While some guesthouses and lodges charge extra for wifi, others don't.

For dependable internet connections, sim cards would be a preferable substitute. It is also among the least expensive methods of internet connection in Nepal. Sim cards offer a variety of affordable data bundles, making the internet widely available. Sim cards are readily available at phone stores and airports. To purchase the sim, you must present your passport. In higher altitudes, the connection could be poor.

In the Poonhill area, NTC is the sole telecom firm in business. In general, the distant hiking paths and little communities both have a reliable network connection. However, it might be challenging to obtain a reliable network in certain distant areas. Therefore, be ready for unreliable or nonexistent network connectivity in remote areas.

Meals During The Poonhill Trek

The majority of the food served during the Poonhill trip is organic and was grown in the hills around the local areas, making it fresh and providing you with the ideal nutrition for hiking.

Regarding the cost, it tends to go up the higher you go because it costs a lot to deliver food to distant areas. The price of authentic Nepali daal-bhaat is about NPR 500. Depending on the location, you may also purchase thukpas, Momo, and soup for comparable costs.

The Best Time To Visit The Poonhill Trek

The Poonhill trip may be completed successfully in each of the four seasons. However, spring (March, April, or May) and fall (September, October, and November) are the greatest seasons for the Poonhill trip.

The Poonhill walk is particularly enjoyable during the spring. The best views of the dawn, Himalayas, rhododendrons, and other vegetation are provided by the moderate temperature. The Poonhill Trek's busiest month is April.

In Nepal, the summer months are accompanied by monsoons, which bring with them insects, leeches, muddy pathways, and in some places, snowfall. As a result, if you want to complete the Poonhill journey in the summer, you must be ready to navigate slick terrain and endure a swarm of insects. In addition, it is possible to complete the Poonhill journey in the summer.

Another great time to hike the Manaslu circuit is in the fall. As it offers the finest vistas and ideal weather, this season is regarded as the best for hiking.

In Nepal, the winter is regarded as the most challenging season for trekking. A chilly temperature is hard to adjust to. Additionally, trails are quite risky in the winter because of how slick they get from precipitation. You may trek to the Poonhill walk throughout the winter if you're motivated and equipped to handle the icy weather and slick terrain. The benefits of going this time of year may include convenient lodging.
