Life is more than amazing. It simply is the best ever gift that all of us could have ever received.

However, I am sure you are aware that life is not so simple. Obviously, something so grandiose cannot be simple. It comes with all sorts of condiments, challenges, surprises, unimaginable events and circumstances. It sounds complicated, right? Yes, that is a great word that many would use to describe life.

Today I want to present to you Lucas, a boy not too small, not too tall. Not too rich, but not too poor. Who is not too known, but who just knows how to really enjoy life.

Lucas loves to offer a flower to a girl just to see her smile. He just loves to make as many people as possible not only happy, but to make them feel loved and grateful for everything in life.

It is very easy to forget the good things we have and it is also very easy to focus on the minuses from our lives. Am I right? I would love that one day everyone reading this will say I am wrong. Lucas would call that a very pink world. He is one of the people who tries to focus more on the health that he has, on the beautiful people from his life, on the free time when he plays tennis, on the smiles of the girl he loves, on the beautiful painting that he sees on the sky with every sunset, on the privilege that he has the gift of seeing colors.

This sounds wonderful, but those are not the only things that define Lucas’ life. He is a musician with a very great talent that, again, he is really grateful for. But this talent not only comes with passion and with the responsibility to be multiplied, it also comes with needs. The need of vocal classes, the need of singing classes, the need of instruments and equipment, the need of paying rent when he goes to university. The need to eat. Yep, the very need to eat and stay alive. Well, when I said Lucas was not too rich, I meant more… well… having a family that really loves him but cannot financially help him to accomplish any of these needs. So, Lucas is a student, with very big dreams and positive thoughts and believes; But also, with very big needs. I mean, they are big to him, big, but not impossible.

That’s what he was thinking about one Wednesday. He thinks of this about every single day, but that Wednesday, was different. That Wednesday started the 7th year since Lucas’ mother went to sing with angels. This is again, how Lucas describes this unimaginable event of his mother passing away.

His mother is not only the one that taught Lucas how to sing, but also who taught him to appreciate life, to always improve, to see and seek the best in people, to live in this pink world that they always dreamt about. His mother also taught Lucas to believe in the power of the Universe and in miracles. She told him that the Universe has all the goods prepared for everyone and everyone will receive these goods when they will be prepared to.

All these lessons were in Lucas’ mind while he left the cemetery and was on his way to university. He also spent the last money he had for that week for food, to buy flowers for his mother, one red rose for his girlfriend and one white rose for his sister. He just couldn’t help it and had to buy a flower for the last alive female loves from his life; especially because that Wednesday was also 1st of March and Lucas loved to help these very loved girls to start the Spring with a very large smile. He can only think about their smiles, but not about how he would manage to go through that week without any money left.

Therefore Lucas was happily walking and dreaming, and suddenly he almost fell, tripping over an unusual heavy black wallet. He looked inside the wallet and there was a lot of glowing money. 20,000 dollars, to be more exact. But Lucas did not dare to count it, he just wanted to see if he can find any documents so he can find the owner. Of course he could imagine lots of things to do with that money. I would love to hear what you would do with it. I know about Lucas, he would definitely buy some more flowers for the girls. Just between us, he would not only buy some chocolate for them too, but he would get one for himself. Yes, boys love chocolate too, like Lucas. And Lucas would not only love some chocolate, but he would also love to afford to start a career after graduating. I would call that money very tempting, but while I would think of ideas how to start investing that money, Lucas was already on his way to the nearest police station. He could not find any documents in the wallet, so that was his best bet.

Lucas was actually happy to find that wallet because one of his secrets is that he feels so good when he is able to help someone. So he managed to arrive to the station without having even the smallest idea of taking not all the money, but at least 20 dollars to eat for that week. How could he, you would wonder. My only answer is that this is the absolute kindness.

So it all sounds good, at least to Lucas, until the police man says angrily:

“What kind of joke is that? You give me a small black notebook because you want to play a hero? Take your notebook before I arrest you for stopping me to really help someone. I am sure you are the kind of person who would keep the money if you really found thousands in wallet!”

Lucas looks confused and is so shocked by the policemen’s reaction. He takes back the wallet only to see it really is just a small black notebook. Lucas opens the notebook and he can see how the pages magically start to write themselves. It wrote “The good deeds will always be rewarded. Don’t let yourself drown by people who misjudge you!”. As soon as Lucas reads this, the notebook disappears into sparkling dust.

Mesmerized about what happened, it feels like a second until he arrives to university and he can see one of his colleagues accidentally dropping his wallet. He runs quickly to him:

“Hey, wait, I think you dropped your wallet”, says Lucas.

“Hey, my wallet… yes, it is mine. Thank you.” Lucas gives the wallet to the young man, who quickly continues:

“You think you are funny? You give me a notebook and say it’s my wallet? If you will ever make these jokes again, you will have very big problems!!”

Lucas takes the little notebook back and is very shocked about what it is happening. Opening the notebook, he can see it writing: “Sometimes life gives us people who are not as understanding or kind, but they are there for us to be tested and to make us spiritually evolve. Answer with kindness to the bad and you found one key.” The notebook transforms again into sparkling dust.

Once Lucas got in his classroom, he can see again a black wallet under the desk of another colleague. Lucas stares at the wallet, making sure it is not just a black notebook.

“Hey, there is one wallet under your desk. Is it yours?” asks Lucas.

His colleague looks inside the wallet and answers amused:

“No, it looks like it is yours. How did you drop it all the way here?”

“Mine?” Lucas asks confused. His colleague answers smiling:

“Yes, yours, unless you have a twin brother with the same name as yours. You have your documents inside. Here you go.”

Lucas takes the wallet, being a bit hesitant. When he tries to open the wallet, he is actually opening the same small notebook. This time he reads: “But we also meet great and kind people who bring us happiness and that we have to appreciate and help as much as we can! Making sure the good people are happy, make us the happier and better”. Being so touched by these kind words, Lucas doesn’t even notice how the notebook transformed back into a wallet.

When opening it, Lucas cannot only see his documents inside, but also 20,000 dollars. Inside the wallet there was also one more note: “You are one of the good ones who will help make more be better. This is the financial part that you need to start a career. When your passion will double this money, another good kid like you will receive a new small black notebook. Use the material, along with the love from those alive and those singing with the angels. Use all this good and become better!”

Not only that Lucas doubled the money by becoming a great and famous musician, but he also knew that he must offer the same help he received to much more people. He created the “Little Black Book Organization” that made sure to inspire the people to dream big and offered help to kids and students to be able to start a career based on their passion, without worrying about financial issues.

After a long and beautifully lived life, Lucas went to sing with angels too. However, he is not the only one who got wings, but his organization got some too. The organization spread globally and more like Lucas followed.
